[It's the local blue woman once again on your network making a post.]

So let's say you're trying something new, and I mean super new. You've never done anything like it before...

[A beat.]

And I don't mean a sex thing! [JUST TO CUT THAT OFF AT THE PASS.] Like a legit way to make money, a work thing. Would you just keep going at it on your own or ask for help?

[This is her way of asking for help without asking, ha ha ha.]

that depends on my knowledge of capitalism
what do you have in mind
teaserving: ('cause I might just say this once)

[personal profile] teaserving 2019-12-13 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
are you thinking of taking commissions or trying to sell art to art collectors
teaserving: (and I said)

[personal profile] teaserving 2019-12-13 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
well with commissions you're not gonna have much freedom to do what you want
so i think it might be good to make an art gallery and look into presenting/selling them

It depends on how it was going really. If things seemed to be going pretty good, then keep at it and you'll improve with time. But if you're having trouble, or need help, then there's nothing wrong with asking for help.

Basically, since it's something new, just watching a few others might be all you need, or a few pointers could be just the thing to get a better grip on what you're doing.

Doing a little research ahead of time isn't bad. It can help you decide whether it's right for you before you dedicate much time to it.

Some jobs just aren't right for everyone. Though it does make now the perfect time to ask questions about it.

I see. Well, I'm afraid I can't help much with that. I was a professor, but it was for combat, not art. It sounds like a pretty nice job to get into though, especially if you have fun doing it. That always makes the work a lot easier.
better_goodbyes: (My bad)

Less destruction is always a good thing to see. It's one of the things I've enjoyed about this place. [Even if his welcome had been rather hectic and destructive.]

[Hello again, Lapis.

For neighbors they really do seem to talk over the network a lot.]

There's nothing wrong with asking for help.

Depends. Are they helping you get one in the first place, or helping you learn how to do one you have?

[ A frustrated sound, as he tries to figure out a situation that isn't that hard to figure out. ]

Hold on, I'm not really getting it.

[ Nothing new there on his end. ]

You don't have a job yet, right?

There is no shame in asking for help if you need it. I do not mind listening to any ideas you might have and giving you guidance on how feasible they may be.

[ He's just not the quickest on the uptake, but even he can get this much. ]

With that kind of situation isn't it easiest to just walk into a place and ask if they're hiring?
