[A video feed begins showing Hornet from the neck down. She lifts a piece of paper to present to the feed on which is drawn her mask.]

My mask was washed away during the flooding. If anyone comes upon it I would greatly appreciate it if they would return it to me. I will gladly recompense you in the form of demichroma, Chroma, or if you need anything sewn I can do that as well. I'm willing to negotiate.

[Simple and to the point, she turns off the feed without further ado.]

Who would label themselves a villain? [Hornet has encountered a lot of new and strange things in this world but this is the first time she's been flummoxed.]

...there are a number of craftsmen around from what I have seen. I know one in particular was looking for other people to work with--Miwako was her name.

Yes, it was in Caihong near the southernmost temple. It is roughly 16 inches.

Bishop. Is there anything else I should know about the mask? Magical properties, does it glow, shimmer, texture, etc.

Well met, Bishop. I am Hornet.
No. No magical properties, but if you can sense such things, it might have some of my silk on it which does.
It is perfectly smooth and a very bright white so it will stand out somewhat in the dark, but it does not glow.

Alright. I think the latter property would be make it easier for me to locate it. If I do manage to find it, I can take it straight to your home if you want. I just need the address.

[Hornet enters her address. She's...surprised at how helpful this person is being without even asking for any sort of recompense yet.]

Grimm is a close friend of my siblings. The two of us are acquainted. [She's not sure if she would qualify them as 'friends'.]

Oh, I see! I had thought something about the mask seemed familiar, so I guess that means you are all from the same world?

[At least that's the assumption here rather than them just being acquainted through meeting in this place.]

Unlikely. I do not know where Grimm originally hails from. From my understanding he has the ability to travel to different worlds.

[He's surprised himself. He's not sure why he's helping or what he even hoped to achieve, but well, something needed doing and he's best busy rather than idle.

And busy he was as it took some time to find the mask in the recovering streets of Caihong. There were more shiny things spread around Caihong than there were coins in a bank, but after a few hours of searching and being chased around by irate shop keeps he eventually found the mask being used by a bunch of Prismal children. For play of course and they weren't quick to give it up without some form of substitute, but after some creativity he did get it back and the kids have a new toy and game to play.

Oy vey, what a day.

It's a little after sundown when he arrives at Hornet's apartment, knocking on the door after taking a moment to rest.]

Hornet? It's Bishop. I have your mask.

[ It's okay - Giovanni barely notices that she's skipped his invitation. He's too focused on puffing out his chest, preparing to enumerate his wicked deeds. ]

Oh-ho, what haven't I done? Just in the night before I came here, I broke into a museum, took two hostages, corrupted a child to the side of Evil, knocked out a lady with my Soul Slugger Doom Bat of Maximum Destruction, stole some kind of super-rare necklace, and stayed out past curfew! And probably did a little bit of loitering too, I don't remember. I'm a busy man.

[Hornet had wanted to continue searching as well but worried that she might miss Bishop.

So she's relieved when she finally hears the knock. She had kept herself busy but had started to become restless all the same.

The little spider reaches up and pulls the door open. Without her mask her heritage truly shows.]

Bishop. Welcome.

[Stay out past curfew.]

And you do this why?

[Hornet has no idea why she's going along with this but Giovanni is certainly unlike anyone she's ever met before.]

[ Says the one with the cracked mask. ]

It is undamaged.

[She wouldn't know how to repair it, and she's not sure who could.]

I was very fortunate someone found it.

[ There was something about calling itself I in front of Hornet in particular that felt both so affirming and so daunting. Perhaps because she was so like their Father, in so many ways, despite the Beast being such a presence in her as well. ]

Our sibling and I were speaking some time ago, and were wondering if you would like to visit a Hot Spring with us, so long as we find one that suits?
