I know most birds eat greens primarily? I think? I've never spoken to a swan before but I did have several birds as classmates at home.

[Guess who is a swan for Iris. It's her. It's she. It's the black swan who woke in a frenzy and just about tried to trash their entire place in a foul panic. It's the black swan who is currently pulling on his shirt with her bill while making a variety of swan sounds.]

[What is she going to eat. What is she going to wear. Where is she going to sleep? How is she going to survive this cycle?]

By "greens", I presume you don't mean the kind of salad leaves and vegetables a human would eat...? Perhaps I should go foraging for more appropriate plants.

[Yusuke is trying valiantly to check the network for responses when he feels that tugging on his shirt. Exasperated, he tries to pat the swan on the head, but considering she might bite, he thinks better of it and withdraws his hand.]

Please, try to calm down. I'm seeking assistance as quickly as I'm able.

[ He blinks. ]

Swans are beautiful, dignified creatures! [...The hissing and clattering going on offscreen may suggest otherwise.] I agree you must be thinking of geese.

Mm, well, the birds I know do eat salad greens and vegetables. I do too actually. I think though we animals are more like you humans than what you consider animals here.

If the swan you know really is picky though, you might want to try greens and vegetables anyhow. Is it someone who has turned into a swan? Their taste preferences might not be so different just because they're in a new form.

Swans mostly eat the parts of aquatic plants. Roots, stems, leaves, etc. They have also been known to eat small amounts of fishes, frogs, and worms too, but mostly greens. You also have to serve in water so get like a dog dish or a bowl, put some fresh water and then just dump the stuff inside and watch them go.

A dog dish? I surely cannot inflict such a grave insult upon her.

Perhaps fish will be worth a try... I'm uncertain about the rest of those listed, but I will keep them in mind.

Yes, she is not normally a swan, but Iris has transformed her... I'm afraid there is nothing I can do to help except try to make her living conditions as comfortable as possible until she has resumed her usual shape. I will try your suggestions and see how she fares.

By the way, might you be some manner of dog? Or wolf, perhaps?

[It's probably smart of him not to touch her head. Midna is already feisty when she wants to be. As a swan, that temper issue of hers has probably increased a good tenfold at the very least.

She prods him. He's not reacting quickly enough. He should have had the answers to this all along. That's not feasible and logic somewhere in her bird brain she knows that. It's rapidly overpowered and drowned by her other instincts, however.

And beneath all of that, she really just wants to curl up in his lap. She issues a lyrical sound that is somewhere between a tweet and a subtle 'honk.']

[She smiles pleasantly after that, bobbing her head.]

That's right! I'm a gray wolf.

She'd be gravely insulted if I called her a pet, but she is indeed in my care in a similar fashion.

And yes, she is aggressive.

She does not seem to appreciate very much at the moment-- [He glances somewhere offscreen at the sound of clattering and hissing on the other side of the room, and winces,] --but I can only hope she will be back to normal soon.
