[Although she's learned how to use the network and her phone relatively well for someone who's from a world without technology, this is the first time Kagura's bothered to make a network post about anything. Typically, she's just replied to others' posts to assuage her boredom.

Today, she looks a little more thoughtful.]

I'm having a birthday party on June 19th. Since this place brought me back to life on that day last year, I suppose it would be a rebirth day party instead.

[She shrugs. The semantics don't matter that much, really.]

I will be hosting it at the house I bought in Amegahara. The house is on the outskirts of the city. Fighting matches and music will be the entertainment for the evening and there will be food provided.

[She has no idea if that's what typically happens at a birthday party, but whatever. This is what she wants for hers.]

Consider this an open invitation to anyone who isn't insufferably annoying.

[Wow Kagura, so friendly. She pauses as she remembers one last thing.]

If anyone wants to perform or fight at my party, let me know. Same with anyone who sells food that doesn't have bizarre effects.

[Not that she thinks Cloud would ever do something like show up naked to an event, even if he were strongly affected by the moons, but it never hurts to cover these things in case someone she doesn't know is watching these conversations.]

[A second chance at life, only brought about because of this world. It's quite interesting to Rufus, enough for him to chime in. And well, it's been quite a while since he attended a party and he's not going to pass on a chance of watching people fight and such.]

I can't think of any kind of food I hate, but I do hate cheap perfume.

I like scents that are more natural and subtle.

[A couple of hours later Ace sends two different videos, both short routines. One is erotic, but not lewd, slow and twisting. He uses fans for the performance, catching them on fire and using them to help enhance the shape of the flames. The other is nearly a battle, a slamming rush of fire from two staffs, beautiful but in a way that some might find a little frightening.]

Moonlacing does heal a lot of injuries, although with projectile weapons like guns and bows...maybe I should add a marksmanship contest.

[Bullets, arrows, and throwing knives aren't so easy to hold back with, after all.]

My powers aren't really suitable for a friendly match, but I've been learning martial arts and swordsmanship for much of the time I've been here.

I understand completely. I like colognes and perfumes, but there's nothing worse than someone who overdoes it with the cheap stuff.

I'm less familiar with swords and advanced martial arts myself, but I imagine they have a wide appeal to many here. Perhaps it's just that close combat, seeing your opponent up close as you land hits on each other.

The first time I smelled a cheap fragrance that someone was clearly wearing a lot of, I thought it was meant to deter predators rather than attract people. I don't know how anyone thinks that smells good. They must not have much of a sense of scent.

I suspect some of it also has to do with the Chroma. Fighting someone in a consenting match will generate Chroma for both participants. Distance fighting lacks that added benefit.

You do have a point there. Along with the production of Chroma, the rush of fighting in close quarters is undeniable.

Part of the problem is if you smell something for long enough, you stop actually noticing it. Well, that’s the case for humans, anyway. I don’t know if it applies to anything else. That doesn’t excuse it, but it does explain why it happens to a certain extent.

Ah, that makes sense. The miasma in the castle I lived in had a distinct scent, but I was used to it. It was...something like how highly poisonous plants tend to smell, only throughout the air.
