[The video flicks on to reveal a figure silhouettes against the red moon glowing full overhead behind them. It looks like Vanitas has somehow gotten onto the roof of somewhere and is perched very precariously on the edge, his hair ruffled. For as dim as his face is in the darkness it's clear that he's grinning widely, his teeth looking almost suspiciously sharp and his blue eyes glowing with what seems to be red.]

Hello, fellow Moonblessed! To those of you who I haven't met yet, my name is Vanitas.

[Briefly the video becomes a blur as he spins to face the moon, gesturing to it broadly as the red glow washes over him.] Where I come from this sort of red moon usually heralds the birth of beings known as vampires. But it's a shame that such doesn't seem to be the case here, you know?

[He laughs, the sound just a bit manic.] You might be wondering why... It's simple- I'm a doctor to vampires, and without any patients it's just impossible for me to do my job! And I'm a very busy man, you know... So I'd like to make an offer to all of you!

If there are any vampires here, I want you to let me test something on you! If you're inhuman but not a vampire I suppose I could still try it on you, really... So what do all of you say?

I don't really care if you mishandle anything, but I doubt the locals would like it.

[But not that he cares much about that, either. He raises an eyebrow at the question.]

Savory, why?

Uh, why wouldn't I believe you? I think the fact that you're doing this is really cool! Vampires need people to look after them too, right?

["Really cool", huh. It's not often his work gets called anything like that.

But he's not going to say that, so he just huffs.]

[ there’s a smile and an excitable wagging of the tail ]

I’m thinking of food options for a party, and I’d like to make things do everyone could find something they enjoy!

[Man that tail was distracting.]

A party? [He smirks a little.]

I suppose that doesn't sound too bad.

Doesn't it? There'll be drinks and food, lots of music! We haven't got all the details done yet, it was more of just tossing around ideas but I'll let you know what's going on because I'm definitely inviting you over!

[ sorry vanitas, he's not great at controlling his tail at all. it will just go wild at any sort of excitement ]

Our biggest issue might be food choices though, so maybe it'll be a potluck sort of deal--but not everyone has to bring something if they don't want to.

[Usually Vanitas wouldn't be so distracted by it, but for some reason right now he can't help but follow the excitable movements of the other's tail as though he's an animal wanting to pounce.

It's... Probably lucky that he can't.]

"Definitely", huh? So what other kind of people are coming to this party?

Friends and friends of friends! Like America, Germany, France, Vietnam... I’m looking into a new place to move to as well, so I’m sure I’ll involve neighbours because it’s good to be welcoming~

[ it’s okay vanitas, honestly if Italy was pounced in any way he’d think it was all for a good fun time ]

Oh! And if you have anyone you want to bring along you’re more than welcome to! The more the merrier, right?

[And now again he can't... Tell if this guy is messing with him or not because he's definitely just naming countries. For a guy who is a doctor to vampires he's still finding it to be a bit of a stretch to accept the idea of people acting as the embodiment of a country's spirit.

He squints a little.]

... So are all of those friends of yours, I'm guessing?

Oh of course! I think you and France would really get along, he's a great guy and loves meeting new people~

[ that tail was still going, so excitable over the possibilities ]

Vietnam is beautiful, I can't think of anyone that wouldn't like her. She's so smart, kind and understanding! America is pretty wild, but it's good because his energy is very infectious! He's pretty young and loves to go all out--Oh no! How did I forget Austria?!

[ the thought was alarming, but just for a moment ]

Austria and Germany are both a little more reserved, but they're great friends if you take the time to get to know them. Austria is very artistically driven, and Germany is very... information driven?? I don't know how to describe it.

[He just raises an eyebrow as he listens, lips pursed a little. He only pipes up at the end, letting out a snort.]

Oh, I talked to that Germany guy.

[It didn't go great.]

Oh--Oh... I'm sorry if he was rude in any way~

He's a guy that's really about hard facts so it's not easy for him to understand things beyond his understanding--I even tried to explain it to him before, but that's just how it is.

[ a small shrug and a sigh ]

He's not a bad guy though, he's very thoughtful of others but he just has a hard time being honest with those types of gestures.

[Vanitas snorts again before he smiles innocently. Of course anyone more familiar with him wouldn't buy the expression for a second and others might even notice the mischievous glint in his eyes that the red in them brings out even more.]

He thought that I had lied to you. You don't think that, do you?

Me? I don’t have any reason to distrust you.

[ there was a pause at the sight of the red, his tail slowing some before picking up in its usual beat through the conversation]

I’ve noticed that there are people from many different places here, so it’s not good to assume that something not common in my place isn’t common elsewhere. It’s the same as visiting the homes of other nations, it’s important to respect the differences.

[The smile broadened a little and he nodded.]

I guess that's a good way to think about it. [He wondered if Italy and Germany shared some sort of relationship like Dominique and Noé. Germany had certainly seemed protective to some degree and while it wasn't quite the same situation it would still be bothersome if he proved to be the type to constantly meddle in Vanitas' affairs out of some sense of obligation.]

Well just tell me whenever that party is and I'll make sure I clear my schedule. [As if he'd be busy.]

Although, I do kind of want to ask if you are a dentist for them too...

[ it's something everyone wonders tbh, vanitas will probably just have to see for himself some time. but at this, italy seemed very happy ]

That's great! I'll be sure to let you know, I want to hang out with you again~

Ew, definitely not.

[While it was... Weird to have someone seem excited at the prospect of hanging out with him there was a part of it that was a little endearing. Not that he would ever admit it aloud.

But he tried to pass it off with a slight smirk, nodding.]

Well I'll hold you to that.

Yeah, that probably would be awkward, I bet. So what kind of stuff do you help them with? Aren't vampires immortal? Do they get sick?

They live longer and heal much quicker, but they're not immortal. They can get some of the same illnesses as humans, but what I cure them of is curses.

That's really helpful.

Do you think you could cure a human who was cursed too?

Well where I'm from humans can't get the types of curses I cure and the way I get rid of them is pretty specific. But that's why I want to test it on people here, you know? Because who knows what it could do!

Well, let's say you met a prince who was cursed to be trapped in the body of a giant beast. Do you think you could help him?

I'm telling you that it's difficult to tell without trying. [He snorts, grinding his teeth a little in irritation.]

The way I dispel curses in vampires is based around my ability to interfere with something known as the World Formula that has interfered with their true names. So for all I know trying to cure something like you described my way might do nothing at all.
