[Hijikata likes Riou's quiet confidence. He's neither a cocky prick nor an insecure crybaby, and how rare is that middle ground? It makes him want to see him again all the more. During the next few days his mind often wanders to him, and it's only his own stubbornness and self-discipline that makes him hold out until late on the 15th, towards the end of the Iris cycle. Surely Riou's heat must be abating by now, right? Of course tomorrow is the start of the triple moon phase, but Hijikata knows that people's moonblessing traits, including the intensity of their needs, can change between the two phases. The sun has just set when he arrives at the greenhouse, and he belatedly wonders if it isn't actually quite rude to show up at this late hour.
Part of him thinks he should just leave his small present box and go back home, simply because it would be the reasonable thing to do. But he does want to check on Riou, and he's curious to at least catch a glimpse of his exalted form. He came here straight from work, so he's in his Moon Knight uniform for the Iris season, which is made from somewhat thicker material than the thin Sanguis season uniform and makes him feel a little more reassured - if Riou's tentacles latch on to him they'll probably manage to wrangle them off without too much embarrassment.]
