Hey, so I have a major request to ask. Can someone teach me how to cook some easy but decent meals? I mean, I learned about frozen dinners and they’re great, but they also deplete my Chroma buying them just as fast as, well, being like this. [She motions to her fox ears, allowing them to twitch a bit.]

Right now, I can make a decent salad! Everything else just tastes bland. I follow the recipes, but it just doesn’t turn out any better than ‘I guess it’s edible’. Anyway, I’d super appreciate someone helping me. I can repay with moonlacing, I guess, since right now my Chroma balance is fluctuating being like this.

Well, I can help. I’ve got some simple stuff that you can do bulk batches of pretty easily. It’s mostly staple foods, too, so it’s pretty affordable.

Meats, veggies, eggs, all sorts of things. Some things just went to hell since I overcooked them or something similar and I had to throw the results away. A waste of good ingredients, too.

Because there's no reason for anyone to serve me here. There's no ranking system, thus there's not people in the servant class, or at least that's how I feel about it. I mean, I miss my servants and I miss that life, but this is sort of a reason to try to become independent, you know?

Well, cooking is equal parts art and science, really. Aside from following the directions exactly you'll need to look at the food, and sometimes be willing to season it to taste even while you're preparing it.

I think the maids I had at home taught me how to cook since I was insistent. Turned into a life saver when I got sent to Mahora young!

I feel ya. [ Not on not being able to cook, but on being under Cordis. He got away without the prolific ear-tail combo (knock on wood; some people's traits seem to be a matter of ongoing development), but his got cat-like eyes and symmetrical patterning showing up on his skin.

The key is to maximise nutritional value while minimising cost. Salads are as wasteful as frozen meals in that regard, because they're not filling and not especially nutritious, if composed only of green leaves and the like.

If you're able to follow recipes, the next step is to experiment with ingredients. Don't be afraid to throw unusual pairings together and find things that you enjoy.

The servants wouldn’t teach me at all. Instead they kept telling me they’re glad to serve. Not to mention I got too busy to learn when I got my job. But that sounds like something I’d need a lot of patience more, I mean the cooking to taste. That’s my weakness when it comes to food.

It's not, really. It just makes a lot of things faster and easier. If you wind up getting into cooking certain things, it might be a good investment, but a pot's fine for now.

A lot of the quick stuff I know is rice-based. As noted in your other responses, you don't need a rice cooker as such, but if you're likely to forget you have it on the stove, a cooker will save you a lot of burnt rice.
