I feel like if I had a better idea of how the mechanics of this all worked I'd be less concerned, since I believe I saw someone talking about being from the same world and different times at some point... but I have no idea if that would have any bearings on anything.

That much is true. I’ve traveled with several who don’t seem to remember quite as much as I do....but i suppose it could be the work of some magic of this land, taking and altering memories as it sees fit.

I doubt the locals would be willing to so readily hand out their secrets, assuming the ordinary townspeople even understand the workings of this place.

Maybe. I don't know how much of it is secrets and how much they just genuinely don't know, though, from the ordinary citizens to the scholars that are actively researching the whole thing. It's kind of a shame I'm more of a civics and humanities person, because I'd imagine the Lunar Scientia would be a fun place to be if you're more science-minded right now.
