Not here, but back home in my Citadel, it's several centuries ahead of the time you are from. We had somewhat modern conveniences, but only by the 2010s at best. Some things were still old-fashioned, but having running hand-held showers was eye-opening when I first saw it.

[ Modern bathrooms where you can set the temperature on your tub are The Best and Hasebe never wants to go back. ]

From what I understand, it's simply a biproduct of our being here, existing as we are. Our bodies are made of the same crystals found across the planet, so our excess energy generates chroma the way a leaf generates energy for itself when it's placed under the sun. [ He pauses. ] I think, anyway. I haven't really heard the specifics.
