We are the Void.

[Yep. Yep, that's all they've got. Their sibling taught them how to type and now they are reveling in their ability to communicate. Though clearly not their ability to communicate very well.]

I see. [ He really doesn't. He's working on it, though; his curiosity is piqued. ] You mean to say that you're nothing, if I understand you correctly? Or is this "we" some sort of company or collective?

I'm surprised to hear the void has so much to say. Très bien! I'm glad to have the opportunity to ask questions.

I'd assumed that because the void is nothing, the void has no need to do anything, but that doesn't seem to be the case. What do you do to "bring balance"?

Do you make things from the void?

Do you return things to the void?

Are you a destroyer?

It didn't. Then Father made us. To seal Her light away.

I cannot make things. That was Father's power. But I can absorb. I can purify.

And I can fight.

So even something you have a papa, do you? Your existence sounds almost like a creation myth, in a way.

We have similar figures in our world: primal beasts who exist to maintain a balance and order. Although, from what I've heard, that doesn't always work out as intended. There's always someone with contrary interests, non? That's probably why you need to fight.

At first I thought you were quite outlandish, but when I think about it that way, you seem very familiar.

Who is She, by the way?

Father would not call himself a beast. But he did try to maintain order.

She is the Radiance. The Light that burns away minds. That reduces those who hear Her to instinctive creatures obeying Her will. My sibling was made to bind Her.

I grew to unite us to defeat Her.

You're a weapon of destruction, after all. I can somewhat relate to that sort of feeling -- I also found what I thought was a particular purpose.

Do you enjoy it, too?

It was satisfying.

But so was doing some things outside of my purpose.

Which is good, because now it is fulfilled but I am still here.
