None of those. I do not even have a mouth. I have a cloak that can turn into wings, but only for one flap. And I can swim, but I don't often.

[They're very light, though, so it's easy for them to just float across the water.]

I am not a stag beetle, a dung beetle, a pillbug, a moth, or a butterfly.

I don't know a lot about bugs, admittedly, but that does narrow it down a bit.

[It occurs to her that seeing what this mystery bug looks like might help narrow it down more, but there's also just something a little strange about asking to see someone she doesn't know.]

There are many types of bug. I do not know what type Father molded my and my siblings after.

[Or if they look like any sort of real bug at all, for that matter.]

[Is that rude to ask? She honestly has no idea. She's never actually met anyone whose parent was a tree before. ]

[They have absolutely no idea if that's helpful.]

She cannot do much but give advice, however.

I don't think I've ever met a tree that gives advice. She sounds very wise.

I have not met a tree that can talk aside from her. That probably makes it difficult.

Okay, I've never actually met a talking tree either.

But I'm sure they exist out there somewhere.

Not many. Trees do not grow well underground.
