It is a necessary evil. Without it, we would learn nothing and continue to repeat the same mistakes until our inevitable destruction. Of course, that does not make it much easier to bear, but that is why we look to others for support.

No, I suppose not. Unpleasantness isn’t inherently evil, after all. It simply... is.

I do understand why people have such negative associations with it, but as I said... well, the physical variety exists for our protection, and the emotional variety results in growth. So it definitely exists for a reason.
