[After much, much fiddling with the device on his wrist - which at first brougt some interesting flashbacks of a certain other wrist device he was forced to wear one time - Jigen finally manages to get the video feed feature of the thing going, and the first thing that's on the screen is his less than amused face, a cigarette burning between his lips.]

So, this "moonlacing" deal... [He takes a long drag from his cigarette, head shaking for a moment.] Not sure what this place's plan is but they couldn't have picked a worst guy for the job. [The only other person he can think of that would be a worse fit is Goemon.]

Am I really expected to get all lovey dovey with strangers to generate some mystical energy? Yeah, not happening any time soon.

But I should at least introduce myself, since I'm here and all. Name's Jigen Daisuke, and despite these... [He points at the bunny ears that have now replaced his own.] I'm a completely normal human. Well, I guess these have their advantages. I feel like my hearing is more accurate.

I guess I'll be seeing you people soon, hm? [The feed unceremoniously ends without either a good bye or wave of a hand. Yeah... not the friendliest guys around.]

Well, I suppose that's just the natural way things go when you find yourself in a new place, hm? You adapt to the stuff around you and end up being influenced by the people you meet.

I guess I'll skip the events for now then. This whole thing is still really strange and doesn't make a lot of sense, so I'm not exactly ready to get out of my comfort zone just yet. [Jigen's trying to be as polite as he can, since this guy is taking the time to explain things to him. And it's probably a good idea not to tell him that forced circumstances do happen. He's already nervous enough as it is.]

I just don't understand why a place that more or less 'thrives' on social interactions decided I would be a good fit for it...

[He considers her offer for a moment. He imagines that any other man in his situation wouldn't have to stop and think about whether or not he should have a coffee with a soft smiling, polite, pretty woman. But most men didn't have equally pretty women point loaded guns at the back of their heads, so there's that.

It's pretty unlikely that Angela will shoot him though, even considering his luck.]

Can't be that much of a bad idea to meet up. This holo technology thing is really weird to me and I should probably take a better look around this place anyway. [He shrugs a little dismissively, but it's obvious he isn't completely disinterested about it.] I'm afraid you're gonna need to give me directions to the nearest cafe though. I'm not exactly familiar with this place.

[He nods at that last part, lips curving into a somewhat amused smile. Probably his first since he got to this place.] Then brunch it is.

... I have a feeling people will think I'm crazy if I actually do that. I'll pass. [He's not about to give everyone the worst first impression ever.]

Can definitely agree with that. [Jigen might be a criminal, but there are some lines he simple would never cross.]

Wait, an animal?? You are joking, right? [He knows by her expression she isn't, but he still hopes she is. The idea of changing into a defenseless rabbit doesn't sit well with Jigen at all.]

Really, though, just make a friend or get a roomie who'll help you out. Like the others said, how far you take it is up to you.

Choice doesn't seem to be a big thing in this place, considering being here itself isn't a choice. [He rolls his eyes, but you can't really see it behind the hat and hair.]

This isn't really all that bad, considering some of the stuff I had to go through in my life, but I'm a little partial on whether or not I consider this a "blessing".

it's a greeting! "please take care of me", i mean. it's like saying "take care" when parting with a friend or loved one. it's a polite greeting for people you've just made acquaintances with!

yeah? some do. as long as all parties are consenting there's pretty much nothing to lose, and the prismals would even have you believe that more moonlacing means getting us home quicker.

That does seem to be the case, yes. I've done a lot of traveling as of late but most of the places I went to didn't have too much in the way of varying culture from what I was used to. Being here has been adjustment, to say the least.

[Ren shrugs, unfortunately not having any new answers to that.]

Who knows why they choose any of us. I wasn't exactly a great fit either.

( Well, thankfully enough she's no Fujiko, though he'll likely only determine that by meeting her in person. She can wait for an answer and it's no skin off her back if he doesn't want to. He sounds wary even when he answers in the affirmative, but she can't fault anyone for that— he's a new arrival and that's jarring enough. )

It does take some getting used to, honestly. You aren't alone in that. And I don't mind giving you directions; here. I'm going to attach a location pin, and if you touch it on your device's projected screen, it will give you a real-time path to follow.

( Et voila— a little ding announces its attachment to their conversation and just as she says, it will open a location to the beach-side cafe near her clinic, so she can meet him and go back to work in short enough order. )

I'm not the best at making friends I'm afraid, but I appreciate the tip. Although it is a relief knowing I don't need to get too close to anyone.

I'm curious though... Do people stay here for a long time? I already know we can't exactly leave on our own free will, but do people spend like years in here? [He's hoping th answer is no.]

From what the Moon Knights told me when I got here, people started showing up less than a year ago. People disappear and supposedly go home all the time, too, so I'm not sure how long term this is.
