I’ve noticed there wasn’t an influx of newcomers last month, or more recently... Maybe the flow of people has slowed or stopped, but for those of us still here — the time spent away from what you knew can feel terrifyingly long. We should still be here for each other. I have grown very tired as of late. To die... to come back... to apparently be returned to my world and brought back here... to know that nothing done here matters at all. But that's the wrong way to think.

greetings everyone! i apologize that i have fallen off on my blog posting, but i have found MANY MANY ACTIVITIES to occupy my time here. unfortunately, i have come down with a case of tunnel vision and neglected to be hospitable to my fellow residents in the interim.

so! i am having a little get together in two weeks (ง ื▿ ื)ว are you interested? it shall be hosted by three fine gentlemen looking for other equally hospitable persons who want to hang out in our appropriately decorated apartment. (chroma harvesting is not the intention).

i shall be supplying refreshments and hors d'oeuvres, though you are also encouraged to bring samplers and cuisine if you like! i am quite the sucker for trying new things from various cultures, especially the food of the laymen. i have amassed an extensive collection of doritos for this party, including some limited edition bags that cost me quite a fortune. please let's not let them go to waste.

also the party is pet friendly, all animals welcome! ʕ •ᴥ• ʔ (example: a bear, though perhaps only trained bears)

In my world, there is a holiday meant to celebrate the eerie known as Halloween. There is a history behind it that I am willing to indulge to those who do not come from Earth and thus have never heard of it.

Well, I'm pretty sure we didn't actually need any more proof about the whole "if you go home you go back to the same time you left with no memories" thing, but I guess I'm just more proof for that.

No one ever mentioned how WEIRD it is to have two conflicting sets of memories if you come back though. Has anyone else had any issues with dealing with that? Or am I just weird because of how long I was away from home and then how long I stayed there again?

And on a completely different topic, does the prismal kids dressing up as us seem weird to anyone else? Halloween isn't a thing in my world, but dressing up as real people doesn't seem to match what I've heard about it. Do any of you who come from a world that has Halloween know if that's a normal thing or just something the prismals came up with?

There are some questions that I have been mulling over for quite some time now. As someone who has returned home once before and returned back to Prismatica with their memories in tact on multiple occasions (apparently some people return, only to be a blank slate), I've had the utmost displeasure of experiencing a harrowing bit of dissonance: My obligation to the world I grew up in, and the freedom I craved in such a liberating sandbox environment as Prismatica. The longer I allow myself to settle down here, the more reluctant I am to leave, and each subsequent ping-ponging back and forth (especially against my own will) leaves me with a heavier heart.

Seeing such a varying degree of opinions both on the network and in person, I've always been curious as to how people feel about their status as a "moonblessed" citizen and in turn, their unpredictable predicament.

If and when the day of reckoning and/or returning is upon us (and should the higher powers be so kind to provide us a choice at all), would you ever wish to return back to your own pocket of the universe? Or multiverse, if Prismatica is indeed set within a different universe altogether?

What would hold you back?

Or if there is nothing holding you back:

what would you take back with you (memories, tangible items, people, etc)?

Or! Bonus question:

In an ideal situation, (let's just throw all propriety to the wind here for a moment) how would you like things to be? This one might be a tricky one. I think this could also easily tie in to the second question, for reasons I assume I don't have to spell out.

hello. zuko here. a couple things:

1. for some people chroma is really difficult or weird or uncomfortable. a lot of people come from hard worlds, with difficult lives at home that aren't so touchy-feely like this, and it's hard to adjust, especially for new people. on the 20th of every month there's a social support group for anyone touch-averse to avoid the awkwardness, still get chroma, and have a mutual understanding between everyone there.

there's also private talk therapy with a professional doctor available. there will be free food, a raffle for a prize, scary movies, a haunted house, and a bonfire. meet at the community center, runs all evening. you can wear costumes if you want. anyone can come, alone or with a friend, just be respectful of others' space, thats why we're there. easy icebreaker for easy chroma and a way to meet new people and feel some support maybe. contact me or otonashi (un: otoproxy) if you have questions.

apart from that.....
2. i'm looking for people to play some sports from my home, we need at least six more.
one is a team game called kuai ball, which i guess is like volleyball... simple rules, hard game.

the other is a Fire Nation children's game called Hide and Explode, it's a stealth/strategy game, like tag but you hide and make traps around your hiding spot with lots of little bombs, it's fun. i swear it's safe, kids play it (just don't throw the bombs AT people, hurts)

3. oh and i just saw movies for the first time
i watched Kill Will and Mad Matt: Rage Road
amazing
i want to know more about movies
there's no such thing in my world

It's at a slightly off angle, but the source of the young man's irritation is relatively obvious: Iris has seen to bless our dear former knight with some rather cute, fuzzy attachments - namely rounded ears, pale circles around his eyes, and a very large, long fluffy tail that's flicking about in irritation behind his back. All of it is a mix of his natural silver and a deeper gray.

So much for Iris' gentler traits. Aegis is too busy being upset to notice any change in that regard.]

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well this fine autumn day!

The change in weather and the decorations and costumes in the shops got me thinking about home. I've mentioned it before, but my brother and I are from a world known as Tyria. I've heard mention that "Halloween" exists as a holiday in other worlds, but the more I hear about it the more I realize Tyria's Halloween is quite a bit different.

You see, it's also known as "Shadow of the Mad King". Why is that?

Well.

[Ana shuts off the light closest to her, instead having a desk lamp tilted in such a way as to cast heavy illumination and shadows across her face, clearly going for that cliche "creepy" effect as she drops her voice.]

King Oswald Thorn was an absolute monster of a monarch, ruling with an insane level of decadence and violence in the ninth century AE while his subjects suffered famine, war, and extreme punishments without a sliver of remorse shown from the man. He married many times, and each wife met a terrible and gruesome fate. Even his own son, Edrick wasn't safe from his mad machinations, locked away in the Shell of Insanity with a mouth stuffed with candy corn. He would host extravagant banquets whilst the people starved and would cackle gleefully at his own madness and awful jokes. Eventually the people had enough and rose against him, sealing his fate and scattering parts of his body across the world, sealed with magic so that he may never rise again.

BUT! That was not the end of Mad King Thorn. Oh no. Every year as Halloween draws near, the seals weaken and his presence is once more felt in Tyria. Portals to the underworld are found across the land, and his looming figure, a massive forever-grinning pumpkin head glowing with hellfire appears in Lion's Arch to briefly test his "subjects" with a game, offering of course tricks for the losers, and treats for the winners. We run through his mad labyrinth, defeating his minions, carving pumpkins in his likeness, trade candy and of course dress up in fanciful costumes!

[Ana laughs softly and turns the normal light back on, propping her chin on her hand.]

Yes, he's much less terrifying now. He did try to break back into Tyria properly when I was younger but after he was pushed back into the Underworld he really just shows up to have fun for a month at our expense and tell his awful jokes. Regardless, it's made for a great folk legend and quite the holiday for us. I know this world has its own autumn festivities but I was considering hosting a small sliver of the Shadow of the Mad King at my range.

I would need some volunteers, though. Would anyone be interested in helping out for the day? I'll compensate you with meals and demichroma. Please let me know! I think letting people experience the festivities of other worlds can be very entertaining!

It is I! Titus Alexius! I have just now returned to this world! I gather that it's been three days here, just as it was three days the last time I left and then returned... Really, I wonder why it is three days?... but this time, for me, more than three years have gone by. So much has happened, and so much remains to be done, but what a gift it is to find myself once more in this place! My memories are returning all at once, and yet they are already years old... How strange and wonderful, to experience such instantaneous nostalgia...

It's possible that I don't actually require it—perhaps the rejuvenating effect of moonlacing will be enough by itself—but I wish to err on the side of caution.

[There's a sharp shuffling noise as the camera turns on and the mic is buffeted, sharp black paws adjusting the frame and making sure it's stable. The poster's face isn't visible yet, turned down as it is, at the keys of a piano.

When he sits down at the bench, he finally comes into view. Those who know him might not recognize the face, transformed by the exalted Cordis as it is, but they'd recognize the voice. Phil is a soot-black fox with (strangely enough) his usual shock-white hairstyle on top, elegant golden markings all over. All of them seem to resemble weather symbols, from snowflakes to air front maps. He waves. Like any good news presenter, his air in front of the camera is poised, fluid, and confident.]

Hey, folks. Phil Connors here. Two things real quick: I finally got a job at one of the local stations! It's Channel 2, I'll be live for the morning weather forecast on the weekdays. Don't be surprised when you see my handsome mug. [Wink.]

Two, I've been working on a lot of music--sorry to anybody who lives in the same building as me. It's for a good cause. From the 16th through to the 18th, I'll be playing at a number of restaurants and clubs throughout Level 1 and Level 2 of Lunatia. Not too many, but some. [Lunatia's resident centaur lady is back on screen, excitedly trying to... set her network device up somewhere where it can actually get all of a rather large frame into the shot. Not that she waits to start talking.]

Greetings, everyone! I didn't realize it's been months since I last used this for "posting"... There's probably so many new people, so, um, very quickly- If you don't know me, my name is Konoha! I'm a jinba... Or a "centaur" if you want! And oh, that's my husband, Gonta... and our friend, Mikuni! Say hello, you two!

[Catching sight of the other jinba behind her pausing in their field work, she moves the camera to show a large palomino fellow (Gonta) who gives a gruff nod and semi-wave, and an elegant ebony-coated gentleman? (Mikuni) who dips into a more proper bow with a little smile.]

We run the Tsurugi Farmstead in the Greatmoon Groves! There was a lot of damage when it flooded before, but thanks to everyone's efforts we're back up and running properly... and we've had our first fall harvest!

So... as a bit of a thank you, and also maybe to celebrate not dealing with those awful nightmares anymore, I thought we could have a hotpot party here by the river? In my village we usually make imoni in the autumn, it's so delicious! It's full of beef and taro root and leeks and konnyaku... Mmm!

[She finally gets the device set up properly and trots back into frame properly, obviously excited by the invitation she's making.]

Cordis is almost over, right? So now seems like a good time before Iris shows up... But if you have a Cordis appetite, don't worry!
