Mm... I suppose so, in this instance.
The idea is that perhaps they'll strike up a conversation with someone they otherwise wouldn't, considering this app reaches most people here.
...And some of them are less than approachable in person, I confess.
So if they have a topic of conversation (the silly profiles, complaining about my meddling), then there is a reason to chat with someone new.
