Chroma whenever you can afford it, whatever you're comfortable paying. Gotta start small, but I'm an expert locksport.
I can teach you explosive ordinance disposal, too. If that's of interest.

it just sounds like they're all working hard to impress a bunch of strangers and people they've never met
instead of being themselves

I can pick around 120 different kinds of locks and it's important for my job to have the skill.

The difference here, is you can curate it to be only the positive to leave an impression.
