[There's a lengthy silence at the beginning of the post, so those who are impatient might not stay tuned for what comes after. He won't mind. His mind's on bigger things. His voice is carefully disguised as he recites a few lines:]

Are you sure
That we are awake?
It seems to me
That yet we sleep, we dream

[Wataru laughs faintly, this laugh his own, undisguised.]

You know... The strangest thing happened. I was here, preparing to celebrate this place's Christmas, and I noticed my chroma ebbing at a higher rate than usual. I don't remember entirely what came next--I think I laid down to rest, and I dreamed I was home again. For a matter of months, actually. Now, I've returned to find the date advanced a week, and the good keepers here acting as though I'd physically left. I hope I haven't worried anyone in my absence, but if I have, I'll offer my sincere apologies! The show must, and will, go on.

Though, more importantly... Has anyone seen a white dove? She answers to the name Jeanne D'Arc, and she's quite the talent.

[Oh, what a sight for sore eyes! Wataru lights up, ready to answer, but her comeback... ah, poetic. He laughs.]

But you're the far more beautiful of us, Shirayuki-hime~ I don't know if I was asleep or elsewhere, to be honest, but I am somehow a bit glad to be back.

[schmisse]

It's good to have you back, really.

[ Did Weiss like working with Wataru's understudy? Nope... ]

I also haven't seen your pet. I'm sorry.

[demachi]

I'm happy you think so! After all, I'm your Wataru Hibiki as much as anyone's.

[He beams, though a little sadly.]

She's safe, I can feel it! More importantly for the moment...did they recast me?

[schmisse]

They did. You did miss a few days of rehearsals.

[ And it's not like people disappearing show up again. It doesn't happen all the time. ]

I'm sure they'd give you your role back if you told them what happened, though.

[demachi]

Ah, of course they would.

[The disappointment in his voice is only momentary. This is how things go. If he must start from the bottom again, he will. But as soon as he's finished his initial business, he'll go straight to the theater and fight for his role back.]

I'll tell them, to be sure! And I do suspect some of the cast will vouch for my general reliability.

[schmisse]

I would.

[ And she's not just saying that to make Wataru feel better. ]

It's tiring working with the new guy! He's so... handsy!

[ She will take Wataru's eccentricity over the other guy. Save her, Wataru... ]

Your lines have more life to them, too.

[demachi]

Handsy?

[Oh, Wataru's blood runs cold at that. How dare he? Wataru managed the role with grace and enthusiasm and without being overly grabby despite the bonds between the two characters. Why, the audacity! His tone settles into something resolute.]

I'll speak with the director at once. There's no cause for someone to be impolite to a lady, and if he can't even say the lines right... Unforgivable.

[schmisse]

It's not that big of a deal. I can stand up to him on my own.

[ And believe her, she's done so many times. ]

He's apologised and he's acting a lot nicer towards me now, but I still can't stop thinking about how his hand kept moving lower when it was supposed to be on my waist in one scene.

[demachi]

I don't doubt that at all! You're formidable! However...

[A sigh. He just doesn't like it.]

It's a role that needs to be handled with grace and a touch of gravity, and anyone who doesn't understand that shouldn't have the opportunity. I never liked his attitude, anyway. Feeling superior just because he's from here...

[schmisse]

[ It's just over the device, but Wataru's words bring so much comfort to Weiss. ]

I'm glad you're back, My Prince.

[ ... She would never say that in person. That's too embarrassing. In fact, she's blushing a little now. ]

[demachi]

[He doesn't fluster, but he does look immensely pleased. It's charming, she's charming! He's a lucky man, if he gets to act beside someone with such subtle charisma.]

I'm so glad to be back. I won't let you down, dear Snow White!
