This place, it is so lovely! All the lights and technology and the new things to explore!

[ Hello, have a very warm, bubbly voice, soon followed by a face as she does her best to keep the recording still. This one worked a bit different than the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera MkII back home, so Mina had to readjust a bit. She's in her room, a nice big bed behind her and a glowing staff made out of crystals in a corner. ]

Would you tell me what you think the best thing about it is? I very much enjoy how open people are about having fun, and trying new things, it is always lovely. I had a very good time with a Mr. Laughter and I'm hoping to meet others as well! After all, this place seems to like the loving, no?

[ Which makes it really interesting in her book. Some people were prudes in her world, or instead quite over the top. (Don't visit Goldshire, kids.) ]

My name is Minarii, and I am an arcane mage teacher from Azeroth. Well, most recently from Azeroth, it is a very long story. We have something that was very similar to this Firialia and what others called Christmas, so finding out what other holidays match would also be fun, yes? Or new ones! New ones would be lovely as well.

[ She knows she's rambling a bit, so she takes a moment to pause. ]

Ah, I almost forgot. I was asking the prismals, but they did not have an answer for me. This place, it has a farrier, yes? I would very much like to know if it has.

Oh hello, Minarii!

[ While Konoka was certainly interested in how much this lady seemed to have fun in Lunatia's easygoing setting, the idea of arcane mages really got her to perk up. ]

I'm Konoka. I'm a practicing mage too! I wish that translated a lot better into using Lunatia's technology, but I'm not struggling with anything anymore, so I feel a lot better about it.

I think the best part is being able to have adventures with new people in a safe way! Some of the stuff I'm into around here I'd never be brave enough to try at home.

[ She smiles at the camera, giving a little wave. ]

You're a mage as well? That's wonderful, I would love to learn more about the different magics around here. In my world, we did a lot of magic that mixed with technology, so I'm curious to find out how theirs work. It seems to be a lot by this moon energy, no?

[ Mina seems excited and curious, leaning back a bit more on her bed as she continues talking. ]

Really? I suppose that if the main reason to help people around here is being intimate, there would be a lot of new things to try. Has it all been good? Safe?

[ The feeling turns out mutual once she got a greeting from the other woman. Konoka takes a contented look as she answers the woman's questions as best she can. ]

From my studies, yes. Chroma is the big energy source around here. You use it not just to stay alive, but to cast magic, pay for things... you really need to keep a good eye on it! Luckily, even just hand-holding is enough to cover quite a bit.

Chroma generation doesn't even work if it's not consensual!

That being said, sometimes there are weirdoes who show up, usually around the end of the month, who try to steal this energy away. Fortunately, none of them have managed to do any permanent damage... as far as I know.

Other than that, exploring kinks is pretty safe! I've done some stuff in BDSM, and I own a little shop now.

Hmm, that's curious. It uses that instead of my mana?

[ Mina taps her lower lip in a slightly displeased pout. What is she going to do with her mana pastries, now? (You know, aside from eating them.)

That is how it should be, of course. Even better that the world itself punishes it.... but I am liking how it is very open with the fun things. Of party or body, that is.

What kind of show are you owning?

Yep. [ Konoka frowned sympathetically. ] Learned that the hard way several months back.

[ Though when the topic came to her store, she brightened up easily. ]

I run a sex toy store! It's very recent, since I inherited it from a previous owner, so I'm still trying to get things in order. But it's got a lot of neat bdsm flavored toys and a few outfits, and there are occasional lectures and discussions about safe practices and ideas. I'm looking for help, of course, since I also work in a maid cafe and don't want to give that up entirely.

I should do some training then. It would not be good to not know your limits in a new place.

[ No place was safe, after all. There could be battles - or just normal things, like blinking or making mage tables. No need to exhaust herself or harm herself by not knowing.

Truly? That sounds like something I would like to visit, yes. I do not know much about such things here in this place, but it would be interesting to learn.

That's great! I'll be around there pretty often so I'd love to show you how some of the stuff works! The Prismals there were a great help in showing me how they work... plus I actually like using them. They're so much fun!

I am very much enjoying how casual people are with it! I do not think I need any such toys right now, but I will be happy to come have a look, yes?

Oh, I'm an arcane mage! That means working a lot with the energy of magic in my world rather than the more elemental directions. Arcane magic is the purest form of magic, which all other kinds build on. To know the arcane is to...

Oh no, it's fine! Magic works very differently between peoples' worlds, I've found! Learning new stuff is entirely my wheelhouse.

I think magic of that form exists in my world too, though I don't believe it's called 'arcane'. Unfortunately, the details on it kinda slipped my mind.

Oh, I would love to compare some time! It's been a while since I studied some new magic.

As for the farrier question: I think they might call it something different here. I think I've seen hoof services offered at bigger spas and salons.

The demand isn't huge, but there are a few Prismals with hooves and some of us get them with the moons, so it's out there somewhere.

[ She says with a little laugh, happy to see him. ]

Hoof services? I like that name very much! I wouldn't want to get a crack, after all! The shoes can only do so much, and a girl has to have a polish sometimes, no?

[Larry winces when she says "a crack". He doesn't know if that's actually painful or not, but in his mind's eye it would be.]

[Like a good Midwestern boy he instinctively keeps his head out of reach from anything hoof-like. He either didn't get a good look or had his attention, you know, elsewhere. He grins.]

I can call my favorite places and some I've been meaning to try and I'll let you know if any of them offer that. ...Maybe we can make a date out of it?

[ It can be pretty painful, but they're a whole race of hoofed people - the hoof medical stuff must be amazing. Whole clinics specialized in it. ]

They are very good for the slippery roads, but not good to always wear!

[ Atta boy. It's painful to be stepped on by any kind of hoof, but at least that hadn't been in their little get-together. (That's not a kink she's tried more than once.)

[For a second or two he pauses, considers...then shrugs.]

[ Well, maybe eventually, but right now she's not yet employed. Everyone wanted to hear something like that one time or another, though. ]

[ Mina looks touched at that, her smile softening to something very fond. ]

I'd have to think a while to say for certain what the best thing about this place is... I want to say the food? [She laughs, her hand coming up to briefly cover her mouth.] But... mm, no, I think it's the chance to learn about things that I might not otherwise.

You said you were an 'arcane mage' instructor? What would that involve? I'm very experienced in my world's conjury, and was diving deeper into thaumaturgy before coming back here... aah, only if you're interested in talking about that, though! That might be more serious a topic than you'd meant to bring up...

I do agree the food is very nice! [ She smiles brightly. Food was always amazing! ] But as you say, learning new things, that is very good as well. Everything is both different and similar to back home.

Ah, I love to talk about magic! That might be one of the most different things I have noticed here, yes? Some do not use mana, others use books... it is very interesting! I am a teacher, so that means I teach the little children magic. If they are interested or have the aptitude, they come to the Mage Quarter and we have many teachers there. I do the ones from very young to before puberty - that is when they learn about the Arcane, since that is the basics.

You find that, too? The Chroma here is almost like the aether that we manipulate on my world, but... well, it's not produced like Chroma, for starters... [And it's here where she laughs, a little pink coming to her cheeks. No need to explain, surely.]

That's quite young to start! I know the conjurers at Stillglade Fane will take on students at the older end of that, if they have the aptitude.... though that has a focus on earth, and wind, and water. When you say 'arcane', is that just.. unaspected energies? Astrally or Umbrally aligned?

It is a very new thing, to have this other power to draw from. I will be missing the benefits from my mana cookies.

It is important to learn young, or there might be accidents. It is not difficult or hard schooling, though. Just understanding the basics... and that is what the arcane is. The basics of magic, which is then formed to other kinds of magical power. It is the raw form of the mana that we draw from, and pure energy from the leylines. It is an intellectual magic that warps time, space, and controls the flow of mana, which is just a measure of a fundamental power — if mana was water, then arcane would be steam pressure. It represents order in the magical elements.

[ Now you got her going. ]

[Dakki takes the explanation in with considerable interest, eyes wide and posture leaning forward. And if she has gotten Minari going, Minari has gotten her going in turn.]

It's... it's impressive to me that teaching how to manipulate unaspected ae... er, I mean, mana, unaspected mana, would be what to begin with. Magics of that sort are reasonably common, of course! Teleportation magics, and some aspects of what arcanists do.... But I know I started in on the path to learning conjury with a focus on earth-aspected aether. The Eorzean approach seems to be one of learning the fundamentals through an understanding of one facet, then moving on to another?

In our school and most the schools, we feel that the base of all magic should be understood before manipulating it into other forms - but that's just how our worlds do it!

I would think it dangerous to learn an aspect of magic before truly knowing how magic itself works?

And I'd think it would be dangerous to handle the raw form without first being familiar with the element to which you're more naturally inclined towards attuning to?

Is it... is it fairly common, where your from, to have the ability to manipulate mana?

You're gonna have plenty of new things to try, don't worry. This world finds somethin' new to throw at us practically every month.

But hands-down, the best part of it's the people you meet. I've made friends here I couldn't find anywhere else. It's niec actually bein' able to do magic for once, too; never could do it back home.

Nope. Magic was always more of a Felineko thing. People like me didn't really have the touch. ...then again, even here I'm all thumbs when it comes to doin' anything more than keepin' my drink cold.
