[ Here's a Fish.

For those of you new to Fish, they're a very long, very slender androgynous merfolk with red hair and fins, lavender skin, and very bright blue eyes.
They're relaxing in a bathtub full of fizzing, opulent blue, violet, orange, and pink suds that seem to be sparkling in the video. Someone's been enjoying a bath bomb. And they've got a flute of what seems to be champagne, too. ]

A conversation with someone I met on the beach before the Firialia festivities put a question in my mind that's been lingering there for a bit...

If it isn't too personal, how do you feel about open relationships? Are you in one yourself?

I'm in one, and it's the best arrangement I feel for my lover and I with our personalities and lifestyles. So, I've been curious about how other people feel about this kind of thing.

[ They have a sip of their drink and crosses their legs in the water, exposing their knees above the psychedelic suds. ]

[What a depressing thing to say for how nonchalant the words come out.]

Not meaning that in the "woe is me, life is miserable" kind of way. Just haven't been able to do a lot of things that most find joyful.

Oh? Isn't there anything you've done that you yourself find joyful? I mean... like... not everyone loves putting their feet into very tall heels that force you to walk on nearly just the pads of your toes, but ah... [ They seem to melt into the bath at just the thought of it. ] I love it when I have to hurt to look beautiful.

Oh fuck no... Would never subject my feet to that misery.

[You do you, Fish. But the soldier in Rey values keeping her feet nice and comfortable and on the ground.

[After a moment, she adds:]

Don't mind seeing other people dressed like that, though. It's... nice.

[She might not always pretty herself up, but she does like pretty things.]

If that's so, you should come watch a show at Club Tourmaline-- it's where I work. It's all glamour there: girls, boys, and everything in-between. You might find it fun.

Huh. Have walked passed that club before, but never thought to go inside. Wasn't sure about being able to... afford to go to places like that.

[She's still getting used to the whole "need to touch people for money" deal, which leaves her a broke ass bitch most of the time.]

Well! If it’s the entrance fee you’re worried about, just mention you’re a “friend of Fish” at the door. They’ll let you in for free. And if I find you at the club, I’ll buy you a drink too!

Oh, ah. Will keep that in mind, thanks. What's the club like? There a dress code?

[The winter ball had one, but Rey has a feeling this isn't like that at all.]

Mm... have you ever been to a cabaret, darling? There's no dress code, but the place has a theme to it-- a lot of glamour. But it's the performers that bring it. Guests can wear whatever they want.

[circumitus]

Never gone to one of those kinds of shows before. Been to an opera, but... Imagine what you're talking about is a little different from that.

Noted, though. [In truth, Rey likes having excuses to dress up when she can, much like the aforementioned opera... It's not something she gets to convince herself to do very often.]

It probably is. Well, however you come, I'll certainly look forward to meeting you. How should I call you, by the way?

Oh, um. Name's Rey. And, thanks for the invite?

[While Fish didn't immediately introduce themself, she caught the "friend of Fish" part to deduce what the person she's talking to is called. Odd name, but she's heard some weird ones before.

[And what the hell, right? Free drink and entry fee bypass is a sweet deal.]
