[ Here's a Fish.

For those of you new to Fish, they're a very long, very slender androgynous merfolk with red hair and fins, lavender skin, and very bright blue eyes.
They're relaxing in a bathtub full of fizzing, opulent blue, violet, orange, and pink suds that seem to be sparkling in the video. Someone's been enjoying a bath bomb. And they've got a flute of what seems to be champagne, too. ]

A conversation with someone I met on the beach before the Firialia festivities put a question in my mind that's been lingering there for a bit...

If it isn't too personal, how do you feel about open relationships? Are you in one yourself?

I'm in one, and it's the best arrangement I feel for my lover and I with our personalities and lifestyles. So, I've been curious about how other people feel about this kind of thing.

[ They have a sip of their drink and crosses their legs in the water, exposing their knees above the psychedelic suds. ]

It's not that, I'd certainly like to be in one but I just don't know much about it. My last relationship was incredibly complicated, not in a bad way, but it's impossible to put a label or name on it so starting a relationship and maintaining a romantic relationship is a lot of unexplored territory for me.

I see... are you looking to try, then? Being in a romantic relationship, I mean.

Of course, if the stars align I mean. I have to find someone I'm really attracted to first though, right?

Naturally, darling. I lucked out when I met my beloved. We found each other's hands in a dance and the moment our eyes met, it felt like we were destined for each other.

I've been attracted to so many people in the past, and even into these days, too. And finding that spark is different for everyone.

I see. That sounds so lovely! I'm very envious. I'm still trying to figure what my type is, I guess that only shows how much of a hooplehead I am with regard to these things. Could you tell me what attracts you to people?

Seek many people, darling... try to get out there and figure out what kind of people you get attracted to.

As for me... well, I honestly think I do like most people! I don't really have any hard nos. But there are certain people I'm most attracted to. I love confident people, for one. I'm drawn to people who can walk into a room and own it.

[He doesn't think he's lacking in that department. At least he thinks so.]

Actually, since you mentioned your partner I just wanted to ask, are they here too?

He is! In fact, I met him here.

Oh my. That's certainly delightful. Who's idea was it to be in an open relationship? Did you both talk about it first or did it just come naturally to you two?

[He's certainly learning quite a lot, but then a thought came to mind and he's not sure if he should ask. It seemed so personal and a bit intrusive. What if they had to go back to their respective worlds? What then?]

It sort of is an agreement we both came to, though... I think it was a lot more his idea. I was so used to being locked into loyalty from my last relationship, but he had a different perspective on it. We spoke about it, and then decided to be open.
