Good evening. For those of you who don't know me, my name is V.

I'm looking for people interested in a wine and arts night. Specifically, right now I'm seeking those willing to work as instructors for painting, drawing, and other such mediums, for a modest group of people. I can provide the supplies for such hosting, as well as the space. I'm even prepared to provide monetary pay if that's a sticking point for performing the instructing.

I'm also seeking people willing to pose as models, once I've secured the instructors. And of course, knowing what kind of interest people would have in attending such a thing.

[ he reaches a hand up to brush his hair back. it's starting to get long; someone should tell him about hair bands. ]

I'm looking to host this at least once a month. We seem to lack an entry level experience for the art forms here, and I'd like to change that. And I don't think most people would turn up a chance for some good wine.

I know how to draw using various mediums, so I wouldn't mind helping instructing!

But I'm mute so...it might not be the easiest thing for me to teach without someone else there.

I can certainly be on the lookout for someone who could interpret, or look into a system that relies on more visual than audio cues.

I plan to attend regardless, even if I don't participate, though I admit I'm unfamiliar with sign language.

That's okay. Not many people know sign language. But I really appreciate the offered help! You should participate though! Since you're the one who thought it up, you should have some fun with it as well! Drawing is really relaxing, at least for me, you might like it!

And the good thing is that art is pretty visual as is, so teaching it without speaking isn't as hard as some other things. [ And, you know, he was undercover as an art instructor at a college before he got brought here so he has some experience already. ]

But if you ever want to learn sign language...I wouldn't mind teaching you. I mean! Only if...you want to. [ It's a long shot?! But he'll offer anyway on the off chance V would want to learn. He's used to getting shot down but nothing ventured nothing gained, right? ]

I plant to participate eventually. But the first few times I think I will focus more on making sure things go smoothly.

As for the second, I am always interested in learning new things. Sign language is a useful skill besides - and if I'll be hosting your teaching sessions, it makes sense that I should learn.

I'm sure it'll go without any problems! If you need me to help in anyway either, feel free to ask! I don't really need too much. I have my own supplies and things that I've bought here, so there's not much that I need.

Yes, we used to have a few more occupants, but we find ourselves with an excess of space now. Best to make use of it constructively. And I think a group session would be quite lovely.

Oh! Yes that would work! I guess for the basics. pencils and erasers would be best for now. A lot of other mediums take time to learn and I don't want to start with anything too intense. Lots of pads and paper too would definitely be needed.

That's great! I can't wait to get started. [ Shigeru, no. You first have to be able to walk through the door if you want to teach!! Going to people's homes is hard for him but he vows not to let anyone down. ]

It's hard to really say when the moon cycles are involved, but I'll do my best to try and notify you or Angela if anything happens. [ After all they live together so she can tell V if anything does happen. ]

Thank you for offering to translate for me. I also figured that maybe we could...practice together? Since you and V are housemates, learning together always makes it easier, and he'll have someone to practice against when I'm not around.

He did mention his interest, yes. I'll try to teach him a little before you two meet. It's sweet to see you happy, you know. I'd be happy to learn together. I could use the brushing up regardless.

I promise we'll be cleaning thoroughly. Though... do you mind dogs, Shigeru? I have a young one here, not very mobile yet. I can be sure to keep him from the common areas if so.

He might pause as he reads it. Dogs...ah, he doesn't really...enjoy them. Well not for what they are but for what they mean in terms of germs and his overall phobia. In truth Shigeru loved animals, especially the weirdly cute ones (his fav tbh), but his phobia as with all things made it so difficult to really appreciate and enjoy them like others might. But he doesn't want to be rude either, he doesn't know what to say!! ]

Dogs are a bit...

I guess if it's a puppy it should be okay? Would it be bad to keep him from those areas? I don't want to...make him upset or sad either. [ He likes dogs but he can't exactly be around them and it sucks...a lot. ]

( It's ok!! That's why she's asking; she'll want him to be comfortable above all else. Maybe it could be another safe space for him, if he finds he likes it. She'll never mind his company, and while she doesn't usually invite people to her home with Dante and V so as not to impose upon them, Shigeru's not exactly a noisy guest. )

No, it wouldn't be bad at all. I'm still bottle-feeding him formula every couple of hours, so he really just stays in a basket if I'm not holding him or feeding him. You won't make him feel badly.
I just don't want you to feel uncomfortable if seeing him will make you nervous of the space you're in.

( She'll attach a picture; it's a selfie of her with a little plaid flannel blanket swaddling this little potato. He's definitely not going to be sniffing around Shigeru's ankles any time soon, and she'll be training him not to approach people unless invited, either. Therapy dog!!! One Day. )

I'm happiest when the people I care about and those around me are comfortable. I'll never consider the actions taken to make that possible a hassle. And that goes for you, as well, Shigeru. You're my friend.

Maybe if you come over some time for his first bath, it can be one of the goals on your list and you can catch him while he's still a soft little thing. His parents were quite large so I'm sure it won't last too long, haha.

As for allergies, you won't need to worry. Dante has an aversion to anything that isn't Italian, but he has plenty to eat so you don't need to worry about him.

And I would like that. He looks so cute and small it's amazing how big they can get! [ Shigeru loves dogs!! They're so cute but...also messy which is why he's never had one. But he doesn't mind watching them from afar. Maybe one day he'll actually be able to pet and play with one...maybe. ]

Italian...oh. I've heard of that. That's something from Earth, right? I could make something like that if you think people will like it!

( Well, he is! They've only met a couple of times, perhaps, but he trusted her enough to come to her with his struggles, so why shouldn't they be? That seemed the more pertinent question. )

As for the Italian food, you don't need to cater to the one household member you're not like to see, haha. He isn't particularly artsy, but we may be surprised! But yes, Italian food is one of Earth's country's cuisines. Italy had a specialty and climate perfect for tomatoes and onions and garlic, and plenty of farming. Most red sauces and pasta dishes are common there, with spiced pork or other types of sausages and salamis. I've been meaning to learn. Do you know how to make dishes like those?

[ Shigeru is bad with people so he never really knows if the friendship is real or not. Probably because he was prone to being bullied his entire life too /sweats ]

I see. It sounds like a wonderful place. I wish I could see it! But I've been trying different cuisines here, so I have a pretty good idea on how to cook most things. My memory is...really good so I can just memorize the recipes right off the bat. [ It saves a lot of time tbh. Thanks eidetic memory. ]

He is unbearably cute; you'll see. And Italy's quite beautiful, but most of Europe is, really. It's very dated and rich, culturally-speaking. Europe is where most of civilization developed the quickest with the largest populations.

That sounds quite amazing, though! I never really had the time or ability to cook for myself, so I suppose it's a bit silly I'm only just now trying to learn, but... There isn't much else to do here, and I've had some wonderful teachers.

( Nevermind that one of them is a tiger and the other one is essentially a blind and incredibly deadly swordsman... )

If it wouldn't be too much of a bother to put up with my bumbling about the kitchen, I would love to learn about red or cream sauces, if you happen to know of any! I'm not very good at seasoning things. If I had exact measurements in recipes it would be one thing, but they always seem to require a degree of personalization.

( The Scientist has no idea how to "season to taste". Help. She's from a country that is very... homemade with recipes passed down instead of written out, and she didn't have anyone to pass things down to her. She essentially just exists off the goodwill of others and the ability to order delivery. )

I'll have to see if there are any books in the library about it. [ Not that he...will bring them home but he can read them there at least. ]

I only really know how because...I can't really eat from restaurants, not yet at least. I usually make all my own food so I had to really get good at cooking. [ But he also enjoys cooking so it's not a big deal to him. ]

I wouldn't mind at all! I think I can help with that! Sauces aren't too hard to make at least.

I'll see if I can find any, as well. If not, perhaps I'll try for a selection of books on the different countries and recipes from my when, if you're interested. With those orbs this place has.

And that makes perfect sense; I always wish I had learned at an earlier point in my life, but I never quite had the luxury of time for something so self-indulgent. I hope if there is anything I want to share with you that you've yet to try, I can find a good way to make it and pass it along! There are few joys in life as wonderful as a good meal shared.
