Still, he couldn't really avoid it anymore, he had already secluded himself away for a month. Without work to force him out, it was all getting too difficult.]

I'm sorry to intrude on any discussions. I was wondering if there are different ways to generate an income here other than through physical contact. Are there ways to pay for things without needing to touch another person?

It seems that those methods are very important to the people here, but, there must be alternatives, right?

You're not sure plants work for an income? I feel farmers and flower sellers would disagree.

What are you really looking for though? Books is just an example, there's all kinds of things out there. You're a Moonblessed. As long as what you're wanting to do isn't dangerous, a number of people will hire you just to exist and help draw in business for the novelty.

Can you cook? Or handle calling on the phone?

I'm not exactly sure. This has been a little disruptive. I'm sorry if I'm being difficult.

I can cook, but not well. I can handle calls however, I was responsible for incoming calls to the company president before I arrived here.

Great! I'm okay with phones, but sitting inside all day was going to drive me crazy, so I didn't look hard at these things asking for people helping in call centers or whatever... I'm not sure what they are, exactly, but that's something. Then places with anyone needing help with phones and files and keeping things organised.

I work with kids, personally, which is probably the last thing you care about, but the school is always looking for help in the offices too, and none of those people deal much with the kids or parents directly.

A school? I'm not unfamiliar with how to deal with filing for schools. Though, perhaps office work would be the best fit.

I must admit it's a bit strange to think about a new occupation, I was rather content with my job before.

It's a school, yeah. With a section of offices, but I don't know that you mean the same thing when you say office work. What makes that different?

Yeah, tell me about it. Not that I was gainfully employed back home, I was still technically a ward of the Church, but I'd been investigating things under directives... ending up here made all of that useless. What did you do back home?

A little different, at least, the sort I did before.

I was a corporate secretary. It doesn't sound impressive but, I enjoyed my job and I worked directly for the president.

Corporate means those really big businesses, right? We didn't have those when I'm from. Mercantile empires and stuff like that, but not corporate.

What's a secretary?

It's someone who acts as your personal assistant, handles your appointments and schedules, and, makings things easier for you. They also run errands and handle lesser things that aren't important enough for your to handle yourself. So, in that regard they have to be someone that you can trust their values and judgement.

[He felt his explanation was lacking though.]

I see, that's hard work and running around. Seems like you'd have to deal with a lot of people in that situation, just not in all the same ways.

Uh, probably there are Prismals and Moonblessed here who could use someone like that, too. Unless you want to try a few new things and see if anything helps for how you feel about being here? I know that's how I ended up where I am, though I'm also starting to work with the Moon Knights now.

True, it is a unique opportunity to do something else. Though, I do have some unique... accommodation that are needed.

Unique in what ways? There's all kinds of unique accommodations people need here, even locals.

I am a bit limited in how many people I can interact with at a given time.
