This is a question I have yet to see asked on this network, though I only have the slightest hypothesis of why.

How have you viewed religion or faith from your home? Has it changed drastically before coming here, or since?

Since being here, humans have made me curious, Byleth.

Fodlan has always been a fairly faith driven place. And yet... being among a separated nation like this, I wonder where humans draw their faith from.

but it's rare.

There are many things that drive them, but I wonder how that moral compass has grown without it?

Do you believe people only avoid taking immoral actions out of fear of divine punishment?

No. Not as a whole.

But would it be foolish to say that I used to think that way?

The divine don't always know the difference between right and wrong themselves.
The two might be more ambiguous than we think.

I find it hard to believe.

Hard, but not impossible.

After so long, having to rethink things is quite something.

What makes you doubt that they don't?
I thought you would feel otherwise.

My only frame of reference before I got here was my mother.

Much of the mistakes of the past were my own. I didn't understand that she may not have had all the answers before I arrived in this place.

I suppose you are right on that. It seems everyone has to search for their own answers.
