(( There's a cloud of smoke behind an otherwise completely composed man with a face fare too serious for what's going on around him. Oh, and there's a screeching fire alarm going off. ))
There was a small fire in the kitchen. It has been extinguished, but this noise will not stop. Please advise.

Song Lan frowns. ]
Perhaps open a window?
[ Yeah he doesn't know either. ]

[Moran normally would not encourage this, but the noise is unbearable.]

Do you think it could be that?

They're there to keep you safe in case the place was actually like... on fire. Like a full on fire. But if you have it under control, it's fine like that.

This is truly obnoxious.

You have to open all the windows and get the smoke out. Otherwise the smoke alarm won't stop.

(( Song Lan looks mildly distressed. He only opened one window! ))
That will make the screaming stop?

If you take a towel and wave it around it should help a bit too. You would want to wave it at this though.
[He points his camera to the smoke alarm in his kitchen.]

I am told it is a smoke alarm and is supposed to signal for help. I do not think it works properly. No help arrived.

Maybe help was already there. As you said, you had already put the fire out.

[This advice is delivered through a wince, with one finger in his ear.]

What is the battery?

My name is Komaeda Nagito.

Ok so, if ya can get it off the wall, there should be a lil' panel onna back, and you take that off, and the battery's a little metal box thing inside of that.
[Scout shrugs, finger still in his ear.] Or it'll look like a lil' button or maybe a coupla lil' tubes. Anyway, ya pull that out, it stops makin' noise.
Or you could just pull the wires out. That'll shut it up, too.
[incidentally, it also stops functioning as a fire alarm, and a modern home has a number of things that can spark, causing items to combust, which is why that device is there in the FIRST place.
But Scout's the king of terrible advice, so. This is what you get. Sorry, fam.]

Doesn't do it automatically. You get out and call or a neighbor hears it and calls.
You've really never seen one of these before???

[And given what he remembers of a cultivator's senses, with such a loud sound, it might be hard to pinpoint.]
I have become rather good with the technology, but this one I have not encountered yet. I am sorry, I wish I could help.

I am Song Zichen. Well met, Komaeda Nagito.

Komaeda is fine. I feel a bit troubled when you use my full name like that.
It's nice to meet you Song san.

Alright. Hey, sometimes I tell people this and I think it'll be okay here, too. But if something weird happens with any of the technology here, you can message me.

[There's a glint in his eye that flashes, and he slips into a forcibly casual manner, rubbing at his nose and glancing off-camera for a second.]
Tell ya what, though, if you wanna repay me...
[--And there's his information popping up on the screen like he's had this ready to drop on people. Probably because he has.]
Call me up if you need anything delivered, right? Especially down in the third level, my buddy's got a machine shop down there.
I do pickups, too.
[He grins.]
