Hello! I'm Dazai Osamu, famous author and fashion icon... well, back home! To be honest, I just got here, and I don't know many people. So... an acquaintance of mine said I should make an effort to meet people... even if it's kind of scary...

Anyway, writing is a great icebreaker, right? I won't judge any amateur efforts, but please check the attached for details! And don't forget me, even if you don't participate!

[Attached is a flier with details on the... well, it's marked nsfw miraculously and you should be glad because emblazoned across the top of it are the words DICK LIT in all caps and brilliant red. The text is as follows:]

Rules: All entries must be written. They may be poetry or prose, or other written content. All entries must pay tribute to something relating to moonlacing, and may, at your discretion, cover Adult Themes.

The winner will be provided an amount of chroma equal to what would be generated by the described moonlacing acts, so get creative!

Ahhh I left that out! The entries will be judged mostly for creativity, since it wouldn't be fair to judge on quality when people might not be writers! We'll fully explain why we chose the winning entry when we choose it... Honestly what's MOST important is meeting people...

Well, I guess I can write something short that's creative.

Great! It can be as brief as haiku or novel-length. And entries close on... let's say Valentine's Day!

Valentine's day? That's less than a month from now. . . but no worries, I have a perfect entry right now. I didn't want to write something that's too long, though. I can't say I've written anything like this though, since it's not my usual genre, but, an attempt was made.

Fulfillment. That was the word that came to mind whenever the cycles came around and went. Many people ached for it, starved for it. But it was only the Moonblessed especially wanted more of it. For an Iris, everything was-

Unlimited. Everything that they ached for, even if they were fulfilled, it just wasn't enough for them. They just constantly wanted more and more and more. Tireless, always needing to

"Come for me," people would say to them. And it happened each time, as long as the moon shone brightly in the sky. Like a—

—Kaleidoscope in the sky. Only when the seven days ended, like Cinderella, the glass slipper was off. No longer were they the rabbit controlled by the moon, but a simple human.

So simple that the world around them was always a mystery to them. One waiting to be solved and seen.

For some reason, I'm surprised at your writing style, and I can't pin my finger on why.

I like the stream of consciousness effect.

Did you expect something a little more serious? Or a meme?

I usually don't write things like this since I'm used to just writing articles for the club, so it's a nice change of pace.

Besides, 'creativity' was one of the criteria, so I decided to do something different from the norm.

No, neither of those. I suppose you struck me as a little more straightforward in your prose, but then again, that's the sort of writing that works best for nonfiction articles.

I suppose that's true. I don't come off as a straightforward though, do I?

Not straightforward, but direct. If it isn't an issue of embarrassment [or shame] you don't beat around the book very much.

I'd like to think that I'm not like that for other things besides embarrassment, but I'll accept it.

A hundred points for the acronym. I appreciate that you switch voices and seem to include both the serious and indulgent... This might be hard to beat!
