[When the video clicks on, viewers will be greeted by a small, rainbow-colored kitten in front of the device, pawing the screen. No, this is not a video of a cute kitty playing with the owner's device- there's an intent behind her action. The sound of something welding can be heard in the background as the cat stares into the feed before stepping away to reveal a very clearly injured Cybertronian. Said Cybertronian is on a chair, working on something on the table, and he's not in the best of shape.

There are several dents all over his body, scratches on his paintjob, dried off pink blood- Energon -seeping through nooks and cracks. All in all, anyone could see the robot is not in very good shape, but at least he's intact?... Well, that's not true. His left arm is forcefully ripped and he's now currently working on repairing said arm with his one working arm. Not the worse injuries he'd suffered.

Not only does he looks like he got trashed hard, but there is also crystallization occurring around his waist from lacking Chroma, since he hadn't been in contact with anyone for nearly a week. He's been patching himself on his own, reattaching ripped limbs and welding them back together, he hasn't noticed how long the time has passed. Time flies.

Tired, Soundwave drops the tool in his hand and slouches in the chair with his vents sighing, finger drumming the table idly. After a short pause, his head turns towards his pet cat, revealing the cracks on his dimming red visor and mask.]

Opal, leave the device. It's not a toy. [Opals mews sadly out of camera.] ... What is it? Are you hungry? You already ate didn- Ah.

[And that's when he realizes the device is live recording. Kitty ratted him out. He reaches for the device to turn it off, hoping that his close friends didn't tune in. But hey if anyone's wondering why they haven't seen the giant robot or the small avatar for a week since the LmOa incident, here's your answer.]

[ And here she is... the face of a horrified Queen coming right through the screen. ]

[ Her eyes are wide, and though she feels a need to reel back in horror, she's more focused on his face. ]

Is that why you didn't come to work? ... What in the world happened to you?!

[Ah. Possibly the last person he wanted to see like this.

He could just turn his device off, but he also doesn't want to face the Queen's wrath if he does that. His vents huff. No other way out except to explain things.]

.... It was during that game tournament when many sprouted wings out of their back. I had to stop someone's rampage.

[He doesn't need to tell how it ended for him or say names.]

That long ago? And you... did not moonlace at all, for the entire week?

[ Those crystals... she's reminded back to the beach and their fight, and it causes her hands to curl into fists. ]

Why did you not tell me?

A... week?

[His faceplate, although broken and messed up, still hides his surprise but his body language did not. His plates flare up briefly.

A week could hardly be considered long for a Cybertronian. But not everyone here shares his sense of time, and given how long he could store his Chroma, a week should be a long time.]

I didn't realize that many days had passed. I was... focused on repair. [And of course, deliberately dodging that last question.]

[ He didn't know... did something happen to his memory? His appearance is thoroughly smashed and the longer she looks, the more she's worrying.

Though she still thinks of him as a reckless fool, his genuine surprise mellows that a little. ]

There are crystals starting to form on your body... did you not notice them either? [ The mild anger is palpable in her voice, and her frown settles it. ] Why did you avoid talking to me about this? Why did you avoid me in the first place?

[ He's not getting out of this. They've gone through the same song and dance before, and she won't hear excuses. ]

[At the mentioned of crystals, Soundwave looks down and, sure enough, there they are, a glint, crystals forming on his body. He wonders if he had taken a beating that hard or he was just too focused on his work to realize. Or a little bit of both. Either way, there's visible evidence of his low Chroma.

Marie repeated the question again. He can hear the anger behind her voice, and... he doesn't really have an excuse for it.]

I thought I could finish repair before anyone knew about it. I didn't want you to worry... not just you, but others as well.

[Hence why nobody knew, sans that one person who did this. He failed on making her not worry.]

[ Marie takes a sharp inhale. His reasoning makes sense, he's explaining it to her, he sounds sincere, and yet her frown won't disappear. ]

You absolute fool.

[ It's quiet, much less explosive than the first time she used that adjective on him. ]

I cannot stand idly while you are crystallizing. [ He's suffering. Actually suffered for a whole week, alone. It was self-inflicted, sure, but the thought pierces her heart painfully with guilt. She should have noticed sooner. ] I am coming over. Hopefully the moonlacing will heal your wounds quicker.

[Ah, there it is. Even though it's less explosive, just hearing her called him a fool, rightfully so, gets his gaze behind his visor to fall from shame.]

... The door is unlocked for you.

[It will be when she made it to his apartment. If there's nothing left for her to say, he'll cut off the feed then and waits for Marie in the living room, seeing no reason to stop her from coming... not that he can force her to stop, anyway.]

Alright. Good.

[ Phone is off. She tucks it away and leaves, her destination clear in mind.

When Soundwave next sees Marie, she'll be at his apartment. ]
