Yoohoo, it's Haru. Your local white rabbit who isn't from here and who is, yes, an actual rabbit! I know that confuses a lot of you human and other different animal types who've never met a talking rabbit before.

Kinda wanted to get that out of the way...

Anyway, I want a job to keep me busy while I'm stuck here and feeling useless while everyone else is going through changes and eating octopuses which is a bit creepy. Anyone here run a flower shop or a local garden? I ran the gardening club at my school.

I know this is pretty boring and you guys get a lot of these kinds of questions, but I'm also pretty bored so we're even.

I'm assuming octopuses would be considered regular citizens in your world?

Sea creatures have their own society which is pretty separate from us land dwellers. But it is important to learn Seaspeak!

I've never met an octopus but yeah. They're their own animal!

[Maybe it would be more obvious if his character design wasn't weird gills weren't covered by his special top, but he's just a weird fishman chimera. Zed claps his webbed hands together at the idea of an underwater society.]

I see! That sounds fascinating...But I can understand why you may think it's creepy. [Highly unethical from that sort of perspective, if he were to take a guess.]

Do you know any Seaspeak?

[Zed's super curious and also wants allow the chance to move away from a morbid topic.]

Sea creatures seem really interesting! But except the animals who can go on land and breathe air, you don't really get to meet many of them...

[Legosi's neighbor is one, but she still doesn't really know them all that much. But she does notice the webbing on his hands, so her thinking he's a bug and putting together his interest in sealife and Seaspeak...

She scratches her neck awkwardly at his question. Because a sea creature is asking her about Seaspeak...]

I was never really the best at my language classes, but Porka porka means hello! [A pause.] Oh wait it might be Pokra pokra...anyways I'm not good at it! My pronunciation was always terrible.

Ah, well...It's okay. I can't say that's a language that could be found in my world. [And unfortunately, it's not something he inherently understands.]

The world I come from has a majority population of humans, so it's interesting to hear about an underwater society.

Where I'm from, there aren't any of these human creatures! I thought they were weird hairless apes or something.

[she looks thoughtful for a moment. as though considering something.]

If where you're from is mostly humans, are there others like you? You're obviously not human!

Hmmm... [Zed pauses as if to debate something and scratch the side of his face sheepishly.] No, I doubt it. I was created artificially, so there shouldn't be others like me unless more were generated.

[Although he knows his creator had past experiments, he's fairly certain they did not survive. Still, Zed doesn't normally divulge his nature, hence the slight hesitation to start with.]

However, there has been an increase in nonhumans in my world due to a dimensional collapse. Think of it as a merge between reality with what's considered the "beyond" or Alterworld.

You were created artificially? That's like something out of a science fiction comic! [she seems really interested!] I mean, I'm not a scientist but I'm pretty sure we don't have that sort of thing where I'm from!

So it sounds like what's happening in this world is kind of not new to you, huh? Wow, it must be hard being the only one of your kind.

It is hard. [To the point where he drank a potion just to become human for a few hours. It's a lonely life, which is why he gives a blunt confirmation. But...]

But I've made friends and colleagues along the way, so I'm not completely alone. [Zed gives a small smile.] Also learning that there are other worlds out there with people similar to me is...nice.

Yeah, I mean there's being alone species-wise, and then there's just being plain alone. I'd hate for the latter much more. Sometimes you can even feel lonely when you are among your own kind, but for different reasons...

[she never really got along with other female rabbits in her school, after all. and even her college friendship with rabbits is.........tenuous.]

I wish I could tell you more about sea creatures. My friend Legosi has a spotted seal neighbor so he might know a bit more.

[A spotted seal, huh? It's hard to imagine anthropomorphism with the animal as he knows it, but she has his attention nonetheless.]

I see...I would be interested in learning more, if you don't think he'd mind me asking out of the blue. Is Legosi also a rabbit?

I don't think he'd mind, but I also wouldn't want to speak on his behalf! [at his question she shakes her head.] He's a grey wolf. Very tall so he's hard to miss!

...? [INSERT A LONG AND CONFUSED PAUSE HERE BECAUSE.....WHAT? Heck, there's even a head-tilt when Zed finally decides to say what he's thinking:]

................I cannot say that wolves and rabbits would...get along as friends where I am from.

Well I won't lie and say it's normal where I'm from, because it really isn't. But he's a good friend of mine!
