Good morning, Prismatica ♪

[ A short and sweet greeting, although his voice is still soft and lacking full confidence. ]

Apparently, I'm not new, but I'd like to introduce myself anyway. I'm Tsumugi Aoba, a member of an idol unit named 'Switch'.
I wasn't a particularly spectacular idol, nor did I have any remarkable titles or achievements, so please don't worry about any of that.
It has been wonderful to be here so far, though only for a few weeks now, and I'd love to meet more fellow residents.

However, I've heard that I've been here before, but I'm afraid I remember none of it, nor anyone else who seemed to know me previously. I'm very sorry about that!
Even so, I'd still like to meet others here. It seems like anything's possible here, so maybe something will jog my memory... ?
Has anyone else returned with no memory of being here before? If so, I'd love to have some tips on what to do.

There's another thing I'd like to ask about, though.
Before, in Switch, I designed and made our outfits, and have been keeping myself busy with classes on Chromawear. So, I'd like to find someone more knowledgeable in fashion than myself, and try to branch out into new styles and designs. I'm not very trendy, and never have been, so it's something I want to try to get better at, even if I might be slow at it.
If there's someone who could help teach me, or just show me new styles here, I'd love the help. Even window shopping would be tremendously helpful.

[ Pause. A small chuckle and a hesitant smile. He switches to a more personal, uplifting message. ]

Ahaha, I don't think I had anything else to say. I'm sorry if I was rambling! I was never very good at being an idol... so I do thank you for putting up with it.
It may be pointless to say, but I still wish you happiness today. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you this, but even if you aren't doing well, rainy weather doesn't last forever. When the clouds finally part and the sun shines through, a rainbow will be right behind you. So, when you look back to yesterday, look for the rainbow. And remember that the sun is always waiting above even the darkest clouds.

Midorima's partially in denial that Tsumugi wouldn't remember him because this is the first time he's really lost someone who came back. ]

Uu, a green quilt... ? Like, a blanket? [ Pause, blinking, looking left. Then down. Then back at the camera. ] I don't think walking around wrapped in a blanket is very feasible, but... if it's lucky, I suppose I'll give it a try.

[ Nervous grin. Hopefully he does remember something, he feels so bad for everyone who's been let down by his lack of memory. ]

Yes, it's Leo's lucky item for today according to PriStar Daily.

[ It's not quite Oha Asa, but it's the horoscope service that Midorima's found works best here. There are a lot of horoscopes and they're all for different stars, but he's translated all the timings to be approximately matching for Earth zodiac signs.

He doesn't like that he's even having to try this, but he backs up to start with: ]

[ There's almost half a minute where Tsumugi busies himself downloading the app. His video is still going, so he's just there, typing. ]

Ah... I haven't figured out how the horoscopes here work yet, but if you know them, then I'll trust you on that. I'm sure you know what you're doing if we were roommates before.

Anyway, well... I don't think it rings any bells, but I hope I just have temporary amnesia or something.

[ Midorima sends over a list of sign translations that he wrote. He has them saved in his phone, though he personally doesn't need them anymore. He's long since memorized them since he goes through this literally every day. ]

They provide you with a lucky number, color, and a daily horoscope. It isn't as accurate as Oha Asa was, but it's the most effective one here.

[ They're too far from their own solar system for it to be exactly accurate, which is why he's very impressed with how well it seems to work for him. He isn't dead yet, after all. ]

Have you seen a doctor yet?

[ Tsumugi's initially silent while reading over the list, but his eyebrows raise early on, and stay that way until he looks back, grinning. ]

Wow, this is really intricate, Midorima-san... this seems very useful. Thank you, it'll be a big help for day-to-day life. ♪

[ Placing his hands together again, Tsumugi nods just a little, a mini-bow of gratitude. And... shakes his head immediately after. ]

Um, no, I haven't seen one since the first few days I was here. Why?

I have no intention of helping you, I simply don't want to hear the whining when your luck ranking is the worst.

[ Midorima is one of those people who isn't just tsundere about affection, he's tsundere about.. admitting he even helps people or does anything that isn't selfish... so he can be a bit of a challenge, but if you read between the lines, that simply means he intends to continue talking to Tsumugi. ]

If you have amnesia, shouldn't that be the first step?

Ahaha, so sending helpful things doesn't count as helping, then. I see.

[ Yes, he's teasing. Tsumugi is fantastic at dealing with tsunderes, don't be afraid. ]

I suppose I should visit a doctor, yes, although I can't help but wonder if there's really anything they can do...

Perhaps not, but if an underlying condition is causing it then at least that can be treated.

[Oh gosh, an idol? Haga is trying real hard to play it cool because this is the first time he ever talked to one, which is why he chooses to reply via text. Anything else would be super embarrassing and he would make an ass of himself right off the bat.]

I think you'd have to ask one of the researchers that question. I'm hoping I'll eventually remember, though.

[ Nod, nod. Smiles. ]

The visual aspect of idols is EXTREMELY important.

Name's Kanji Tatsumi. Style-wise, I'm more 'self-expression no matter what everybody else thinks because screw 'em'. I've been workin' on blending that with the really freakin' bright shit the prismals really like.

But I'm hearin' the spring season they get here's pushin' for roomy sleeves, but nothin' too roomy, since big, wild hair styles are goin' in, too. Nobody wants to look like a walking maple bush.

If nothing much fits you, I'd still like to give it a try. All of 'Switch' was either small, thin, or me. It's important to experiment with new body types, you know? I need plenty of practice if I eventually make clothes to sell here.

[ Tsumugi gives a little smile and nod. ] I always admire people who can wear whatever they want... I've been stuck in uniforms all my life, so I don't even know where to start.

Roomy sleeves, wild hairstyles... Ahaha, that sounds like fun. Where do you make your outfits? All I have for a sewing table is the desk in my apartment.

[Oof, uniforms. He felt that. The number of times the teachers gave him hell for not abiding by the fuckin' dress code...

He swept his hand through his hair and smiled, pleased.]

Got a bigger apartment when I moved in with my girlfriend. I turned one'a the extra rooms into a studio, man: Desk, table, storage space, the works. I wagered instead of payin' rent to have a store I'd just work from home and hand-deliver stuff.

[ Tsumugi's video in reply starts solely with the desk and a sewing machine resting on top. There's a stack of fabric, a tall box next to the table, a smaller box, and a chair clearly unfit for extended periods of sewing.

After which, he turns the screen slightly so he can be seen. ]

That's all I have at the moment, but I've been saving mon... er, Demichroma, more than anything else. I do love all the fabric options, but I freely admit that growing up poor warped my view of budgeting...

Hmm... Tatsumi-san... How do you conduct this type of business? Do you take orders over the network?

[The setup is good to start, but that chair... his back aches just looking at it.]

I get it, but if you're puttin' up with shit that'll hurt ya, then ya gotta do somethin' about it, man!

[He got up and left the frame, and a few things shuffled around. But he did address the question.]

I try to advertise on the network once every few weeks or so, and I get orders from prismals n' moonblessed over the network. Word of mouth is pretty huge here, too, so it ain't like I'm ever short on demichroma.

Lemme give you a new chair- I got a couple extras after some weird trades, but it's got arm rests for the elbows and a high back so you can lean back while ya work with your hands.

[He returned, pushing it into view.]

If it's worth it to invest in a better setup, I think I eventually will -- at least once I'm comfortable with making different types of clothing. Although I have been practicing a lot, I'm a bit slow at learning, you see...

That's a really nice chair, isn't it? Are you sure you want to just give it to me like that? At least let me repay you! If you give me your measurements sometime, I'll try to make something cool. ♪

[ Tsumugi smiles -- even though he has very little confidence he can make something cool enough for someone like Tatsumi-san. He'd still like to try, no matter how many designs and redesigns it takes. After all, failure is the father of success, as they say. ]

[He could just hand over the chair, his intention, but a trade sounded pretty cool. Yet...]

You sure about that? I mean, I don't wanna put ya outta some materials. This is really no sweat.

[He scratched his head.]

We could always do trades or somethin' later, once you're settled in better. Craft exchanges sound badass!

Well I've heard that hitting the right part of the head has been rumored to help jog memory and I've wanted to test THAT.

It isn't fair at all, Natsume-kun. You have plenty of reasons to despise me, but I don't think that any action the previous "me" took should be one of them.

Acting like nothing happened is the same thing as lyING, and while I might normally be good at that sort of thing it's still not so EASY. Besides, what "normal" are you referring to that would be so differENT?

Natsume-kun... I don't know what to do if you still think I'm lying. I don't have any memories of anyone at all, and one person who knew "me" before "I" left seemed to think it was a different "me" altogether. I'd like to think that is the case, even if he could be wrong.

I just want to go back to when you'd just punch me when I teased you instead of being this distant... I felt like we were close, but now it's like talking to a stranger.

But with all the talk of alternate people, my head starts to hurt already, so I'm not sure if I want to think that maybe I knew a different "Natsume" in the first place...

Humans change when they're exposed to different places and people so even if I'm physically the same it's only natural that I'm not the exact person you knew back HOME. That much can't be undone, just as you forgetting your time here can't be unDONE.

I don't claim to have a better handle on the way time and reality function in this world so there's no way for me to scientifically prove that either one of us is "real" or "the same", but such is also the nature of existENCE.

... But it's not like I enjoy this eithER.

If you don't enjoy it, why not take steps to change the situation? Doing nothing won't help you feel better about it.

It's still showing. We got extended for a couple more weeks.

I'd rather have all my friends here with me, or have the freedom to visit them. This world is far nicer to its inhabitants than my own is. It's as though I'm living in a utopia here, where life is fair to those who work hard. It's easier to stay positive, harder to be negative.

I can't say I disagree. I like it here a lot, even though being intimate with just about anyone is embarrassing.
