Even if she's not wearing her uniform anymore, her squared shoulders and lifted chin seem to scream 'MILITARY!' even in a soft and fuzzy gray sweater.]

Greetings. My name is Winter.

[Some of you might remember her all the way back from summer when she made a very detailed presentation on what types of moonlacing were and were not acceptable. This time, she's not asking for help. She's offering it.]

It has come to my attention that when we return to our worlds, we lose all memories of this one. It would seem that our actions do not matter.

[She drops her gaze for a moment, reinforcing her resolve to remain professional. Her emotions are starting to leak through just the same.]

But I would very much like them to, for the duration of my stay. Consider this an open invitation to seek my aid for any troubles you might have. If I am unable to render assistance, then I will help you find someone who can. The impression I leave behind will not be forgotten. I would have it be one of fond remembrance rather than hedonistic selfishness. I don't require compensation. I don't desire it either.

[Her jaw tightens, and her brow furrows.]

This is what I want to do. I am choosing it for myself. Seek me out if you have need of me, in public or in private.

I don't really need assistance, I was just wondering what it was like. I'm feeling rather aimless now that I'm settled but I'm not really sure where exactly I can put my skills to use here.

I'm certain they would not turn away one who possesses such skills. I assume you are well versed in combat?

[Boy can Winter empathize with feeling aimless right now, but she's keeping that little nugget of joy firmly locked away.]

If so, instruction to those who are less competent in such matters is also considered a prized attribute.

I was a mentor for a short time so I'm not opposed to teaching. Is it alright to ask why you didn't join the Knights here? You don't have to answer if you don't want to!

[Not unless she absolutely has to. The answer is true, but grossly simplified. Her reasons are a bit more complex than that.]

In any case, any assistance they can render can be duplicated of my own volition. I can act with fewer restrictions as a result.

Might I inquire as to your combat specialties?

Understandable. I've struggled with both as well.

[Dividing loyalties, being restricted. They were things that pushed her and her brother to create The Blade Coalition. A guild could act more freely, even if it meant working with some less than reputable people and a lack of structure. Ana still felt they did far more good than harm.]

Ah-- ... heh. I keep forgetting it's something I can actually talk about now. I was part of one of the three Orders of Tyria, specifically Order of Whispers. We operated in relative secret, focusing mostly on espionage, intel gathering and spying to get what we needed for the protection of Tyria. I did eventually leave and join the Pact which was something of a collection of all three Orders, some guilds and some of the other military factions, but I was only there a short time before I decided to make my own guild with my twin brother. I've been a guild commander for about two years now.

[Winter listens silently. An interesting skillset, and she won't say it isn't useful to know about. Who knows, an expert at covert operations could turn out to be useful. Winter sure could have used abilities like those when infiltrating the casino all those months ago.]

However, I was inquiring as to your preferred method of attack. Weapons, unique abilities, and such.

Sorry, sorry... uhm, I haven't really run into anyone here who shares similarities to my world yet so feel free to ask any follow up questions, but I'm a Druid, and I mainly use staff and bow.

[One brow arches. Winter's definition of a druid likely varies from Illyana's, since she wouldn't ordinarily equate a sequestered religious organization with skilled combatants. At least the weapons are different, she hasn't fought too many people who make use of staves and bows.]

What does being a Druid entail as far as combat specialties?

[Five years ago Ana would have thought it only to ever mean the tree-like beings that once roamed Metrica Province and shared their knowledge with those who would seek it, but surprisingly there had been more to it.]

Support, actually. I started off learning Ranger skills from my mother who was fairly well known in her youth for her abilities with the bow, but I uh... I've never known whether to say "gained" or "unlocked". There were some texts that hinted the abilities were something of an ancient force that lay dormant in the Maguuma Jungle until we rather unceremoniously crashed in. In any case it opened up a whole new set of abilities I never had before, mostly using attunement with nature to be able to heal and boost my allies.

Plus I grew up on a farm so the whole plant-magic thing was sort of a given anyway.

[There was a time Winter might have leaped at the opportunity to commiserate with someone who can utilize magic naturally. Now? There's certainly no more point. She won't be wielding it herself.]

I see. Thank you for explaining. It seems you have a well-rounded set of skills at your disposal.

[Her shoulders lift and fall.]

With that, you might also employ your plant-magic and farming experience cultivating and maintaining the parks and natural areas, or working on a smaller and more intimate level with greenhouse plants that people might bring into their homes.

[Magic in Tyria is... interesting, at least when compared to other worlds. It also meant a lot of worry over balance and how they're going to deal with certain threats.]

I'm not one to brag about it, normally, but I'm also painfully aware I'm an exception not a commonality here.

[Oh, that's right. She learned about those somewhat recently.]

Oh, yes, James took me to one of the farms! The one run by the amazing centaurs!

[Which is saying something because Ana's experience with centaurs has been less than amicable. She clasps her hands together, smiling brightly at the memory. That was such a nice date!]

They seem to have their business handled pretty well, though. I don't want to barge in demanding a job or anything. The rest is something to consider...

[Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing to break from being the "hero" entirely for a while.]

I know of at least two people who favor house plants to a significant degree, if that has any impact upon your decision. Ultimately, however, I can only offer suggestions. I wouldn't want to choose someone's career for them.

I suppose running a business wouldn't be that far from running a guild. It might actually be more relaxing than trying to find something closer to what I used to do, especially if I'm working with plants...

[This has actually been really enlightening! She didn't mind the information about returning home with no memories or time passed because she already knew, and it just meant less worry over how her guild and family were doing.

She gives Winter a bright smile, knowing it likely won't be returned but knowing thanks are in order regardless.]
