[ Hello everyone. Your feed is now graced with a smiling idiot. When he comes on, it's just from his shoulders upwards, but on his head is not only a set of antlers, but rabbit ears that match his hair. As he speaks, he's bobbing his head up and down and his ears are flopping carelessly. His voice is just as excited as one would expect. ]

So, now that I've been here over six months, I wanted to ask everyone something!

Since you've arrived, have you learned any cool things? It can be a new skill, something interesting about yourself, or a secret talent - so secret you didn't know you had it yourself. Whatever you've learned since you got here, it counts. [ And - he'll immediately follow up with what he has to contribute. ]

So, I've learned a lot of cool things about other worlds and places that are different from my own. I've met a lot of interesting people, too. But, in addition to that I have been taking more and more dance classes.

[ He nods, stepping back. He's in boxers and a t-shirt with a giant maple leaf on it. He shifts, starting to pose dramatically. ]

I've gotten better at ballroom. And --

[ He steps away from the camera, and now that you can see behind him, there is, of course a pole. His tail - small, similar to a deer. He moves towards it. He immediately lifts himself up onto the pole and easily pulls off the cross ankle release. He shifts, then gets down and does the cheba split. Easily. After a moment of holding the pose, he hops down and moves back to the camera. ]

Pole dancing. So tell me everyone~ what have you learned?

[ He winks, and turns off the camera. ]

Magic is pretty cool.

[ He leans into the camera, smiles about as wide as you'd expect. ]

You did? When did you start learning? Welcome to the club! You should come skate with me sometime. I always like having friends there.

Back in the twelfth month, when we were able to stay in that cute resort! But I was quite bad at it initially. There seems to be an awful lot of things one needs to remember... keeping the ankles stiff but the shoulders relaxed... centering the weight... deliberately not thinking about falling. I didn't find it intuitive at all.

Oh. I remember! I showed a couple of people how to skate. There's a lot to it, but once you do it - you don't think about it.

It's...natural.

You know?

Hmmm.
I think so! Magic is like that for me, more or less. But does it really become natural for everyone?

I'm sure it does eventually. At least the actual skating portion. Not the jumping and spins portion. Those -- [ amused tilt of his head ] are different, though! No one expects everyone to be able to do that.

But it's nice to not have to think hard about being on the ice. Your body just knows how to do it!

Then... I think I would like to keep trying until it starts feeling that way!
Or at least, until I have been trying so long that it is obvious it will never, ever start to feel that way.

Keep at it! Skating does require time and patience. Not everyone gets the chance to start it when they're small like I did.

But if you're patient, you'll probably get some pay off.

Honestly, patience isn't one of my strong suits...
But that is probably something else I should work on developing.
So then, no doubt we shall run into one another at the ice rink at some point. When we do, please encourage me!
