Granted, he hasn't been okay for 10 days now and most of that is not the fault of the strange alien planet he has suddenly been brought to, but being here isn't exactly helping either. He's gone through all the arrival procedures like sleepwalking and now he's spent a day or two just sitting in his apartment staring at nothing. A part of him still expects that this will all go away and he will finally fade into nothingness as he righteously should--- but that's not happening. He's still here, he's still breathing, and all of it is so so utterly wrong.

Mikami has never posted on the internet for advice before. That has always been the kind of lost and pathetic that happens to other people. He thinks about how low he's sunken and hits 'create account' on Prismagram. ]

I am dead. I have been made to understand that this is not the status quo. Why am I here then?

[ Some time after that existential crisis is aired to the public, Mikami sits down and makes an actual personal account that he intends to use if needed be. He's not much of a social media person, never has been, but it seems useful to have in a place that is entirely unfamiliar. ]

I have recently settled in Lunatia after my initial arrival procedures. While I have been able to gain a wealth of information from officials and don't require immediate assistance, there are questions that I feel are better answered by other 'Moonblessed'. If you have a moment to spare, I would be grateful.

How well have you found your education from your old life to be valued in this city? For obvious reasons, we are without our certificates and cannot prove whatever degrees we may have obtained in the past. How would one go about having their academic status recognized?

Naturally, most knowledge would not carry over one on one, but there is still merit in being able to cite experience.

I was discharged from my assignment in my own world after our government was overthrown and chose to switch to being a survivalist. It's useful on any planet, but not for everyone.
Being a lawyer is very important. Do you defend or prosecute?

[ Oh. Uh. Hm. That's not what he expected. He thought this was going to be like 'I was a smith and being a smith needs no exams, when you can just work the smithy and everyone can see that'. That's decidedly not what it wound up being. ]

I'm sorry to hear about your society.

I prosecute criminal cases.

You may work with my friend Jyuto Iruma in the future. He's one of the moon knights. He would know what prosecutors here need to be qualified to work with law enforcement.

I must ask though... What year are you from? I've grasped that there are different versions of Earth, but hearing my home country mentioned like this is still very odd.

We use a separate calendar now called Calendar H. It was implemented after the end of World War III.

[ So any date he gives wouldn't work exactly the same, but he can tell him that. ]

That is answer enough in itself. There was no trace of a World War III happening when I was on Earth.

There are many versions of Japan here.
I think it's one of many possibilities, but not a certainty in any world.

There are likewise phenomena on my Earth that don't appear to exist in other versions of it here, yes.

It's still interesting and a little unsettling to hear of the potential future, however.

In late 2003, criminals all around the world started dying of mysterious heart attacks. By early 2010, the time I am from, this has been long accepted to be the work of a deity systematically ridding the world of crime. The crime rate has dropped by 70% already.


I was quite shocked to find that people here seem to not have heard of Kira, which is what we publicly call said God.

It sounds like many versions of Earth are finding ways to decrease crime.

[ He doesn't really know what he thinks of Kira or anything, it's not his world and this is a very short explanation that he can't really judge from... but more than that, it's not really his place to. He understands that sometimes dirty work needs to be done to maintain the overall peace. He doesn't know about gods or anything, but it sounds pretty outstanding. ]

Mankind has lived in complacency with corruption and violence for far too long. I was beginning to despair of it when Kira appeared.

Have people changed fundamentally because of Kira?

[ Or are they just scared? He wonders if it isn't a bandaid over a mortal wound if it's that bad in his world. ]

I am afraid it's still a little too early in the progression to truly tell. Society has notably improved, but there is still much that requires Kira's direct intervention to function. The unrighteous are stubborn.

I am confident however that true change is just around the corner now.

[ Was. It was around the corner. But that's not something he is ready to acknowledge to strangers on the internet... ]
