Ah... this message is primarily for my fellow Moonblessed. For those who don't know me, I am Titus Alexius.
I have been thinking about this quite a bit lately, and... I think that we ought to, if possible... that is, to the extent that it is possible...

I think we should stop moonlacing.

We need to do a little, of course, to survive. Obviously we should all feel free to do that amount. But beyond that minimum, we should most likely refrain.

[ he hunches his shoulders and looks down!! ]

This will certainly be a great sacrifice... and terribly difficult, especially during the moon cycles... and no doubt quite unpleasant in many ways as well. For some of us more than others. But while the effects of chroma generation initially seemed exclusively beneficial, with the very worst of them still being harmless, it is now more than clear that there are others that are neither predictable nor safe.

[ now he shuts his eyes. ]

I am willing to do anything, though... physically demanding work is probably best avoided, unless you don't mind its being accomplished poorly and only after a likely unreasonable length of time.
Nothing that requires moonlacing, either, though I suppose that much is obvious.

One marriage after another... it sounds chaotic, but also exciting. Of course you have many responsibilities to complicate matters, and it is not allowed now anyway, but if that were not the case... would you want to marry again? Provided you were able to choose a partner for yourself, that is. Is there anything I should learn about your methods, or about sandwiches, generally?

I would, I think. Being quite old skews perspective about things lasting, but it also skews perspective about doors being shut forever. It is difficult to conceptualize at times, but I believe many of my kind have wished for a normal lifespan to live out with a companion. Being here has been a taste of what it is for time to pass normally, and I am grateful.

The sandwiches are open-faced. I use a variety of spreads and toppings, and they're added to the breads upon ordering, so that the bread itself doesn't become soggy. Ingredients are simple, presentation is elegant. If you'd like to come in next week I can show you how I work.

You know It had not occurred to me until now, but my mother is like you in many ways. Though she told me she thinks of Reim as her child, rather than as something she embodies... and lengthening her lifespan to watch over it through the centuries was her own decision. I wonder what she would make of life here. I am sure she would want to discuss many things with you. Ahh Those sandwiches sound really amazing... I have never had one with an open face. Reim is where you are from, then, and your mother a ruler? If so, my sincerest apologies for being unaware of your status.
It is nice to hear that someone can think of a land as their child, even without a face attached to it. Sometimes I have wondered, of my superiors who have thought of me as this or that, if they would say the same if they did not speak with me personally.
I would be quite interested to discuss such things with her. Perhaps she will be brought here one day.

Ah, not at all Lady Scheherazade is the high priestess and magi of the Reim empire, so she is not quite a ruler, although she does exert a great influence. The military leaders obey her without question. But I myself have no status. I hope she will come here, though. I would very much like to see her again. How exactly does one eat them? Do you hold the bread in one hand and take bites carefully?

There are many people I would like to be brought here as well, even if only for a moment. We can hope.

That is precisely how one eats them. Best with a very small portion of beer. At my home, we have a special glass for it. Just enough to enjoy the food with, but tiny enough that one can have it midday without worry.

? Perhaps. I am not really aware of any legends like that, but maybe she felt no need to mention it Oh I see Do you serve it like that at your restaurant, with the special glass? Also A friend of mine would like to know whether working there requires wearing a "fetishy costume" I told her it probably does not but that I would confirm.
