Hey, maybe this is going to sound like kind of a silly question, but — does anybody have any advice for staying focused while studying for exams? I really don't remember it being this hard! I mean...sure, it's been a really long time since I've had to study like this, but it shouldn't be that tough to pick up again, right?

Though I guess I ought to know better than to try to study during Cordis, but...

Well, my plans to study during Sanguis kind of got...interrupted! So now here I am, going over everything, and I keep getting sidetracked by one thing or another. Half the time I want to get up and eat, and then other times I want to lie down and take a nap...ugh!

But I really need to stop letting so much time go to waste. I made a promise to myself that I was going to do this! And I've worked this hard already for months and months, I can't trip at the finish line now!

Jeez, maybe I ought to borrow some catnip from the cafe and sprinkle it on my books, I bet I'd pay attention to them then.

(This is actually my first time being a cat for Cordis — I guess you could say it's pretty im-purr-essive that it hasn't happened before now! Especially what with owning a cat cafe and all. I just wish it weren't so distracting!)

Actually...I mean, aside from making it kind of hard to sit, it's pretty great for balance! It does that cat thing where it moves around to help keep me steady, even if I'm not thinking about it.

Oooh, you're a Sanguis, huh? You're not one of those Sanguises who goes around smelling people without asking, are you?

I ... don't think so? I tend to hole up until it's over. I have mood swings when Sanguis is active.

Oh, that's good. I used to work at this cafe and no offense but my worst customers were always Sanguises who couldn't keep their hands — or their noses! — to themselves.

I don't mean to say I think every Sanguis is like that! Just...well, I think it comes with the territory a little more than most. Just because of how the red moon is, you know?

I get angry over the stupidest things when I'm affected, but I wouldn't go near my friends when I'm like that. It's ... a lot to deal with. I'm already bigger than them, the extra dose of animalistic dumbassery doesn't help.

Your ex-customers sound like dicks.

Do you have an easier time with your moon now?

Oh, hmm. Yeah, I can definitely see how that would make things tough. It's pretty rotten that you feel like you have to hole up somewhere until it's over, though. Maybe if you had another Sanguis friend, they could help keep you in check?

They were! Luckily, I got pretty good at handling them, and sometimes my friends rescued me, too. And I'm out of there now, and have my own cafe, so things are a lot better.

I'm a lot more used to it! It gets a LITTLE awkward sometimes if I get butterfly wings and...uh, some stuff that happens with that. But mostly it's okay.

I don't think I've met another Sanguis, we seem to be quite rare, maybe so we don't start fights en masse when our moon's turned up to full.

What's your new cafe called? I'd like to drop by sometime and see the professional handling of this tail you've sprouted.

Oh! Well, I can introduce you to at least one if you want. He uses the username "fantasma" on the network — that's my brother. He's a Sanguis! He turns into a ram, though. Or, um, a dragon.

And it's called Beans! We're on level two — it's Beans! because it's a cat cafe, so, you know, coffee beans and cocoa beans and toebeans. I thought it was pretty clever!

...Um. Well, they...sometimes they shed this sort of powder. And it gets everywhere, and makes a mess.

You've seen a real dragon before? Like not just a Sanguis dragon, a real dragon?

Dragons, dragonborn, fought a couple of the former and grew up in a city where the latter were sprinkled around. Sure.
