i'm not worried
i don't really know one type from another either so it's basically going to come down to which one i like the look of

but be too afraid to do anything

what should i look for

You have to plug it in to make it loud
So I think any electric guitar would work
If you turn the amp up really really loud

But there are some guitars that are better for hard rock or metal music
The ones that look kind of sharp and scary
I think

I don't know what makes them better though
