[He's still not great at texting, so he had Gintoki give him some guidance on how to do some fancier technological things. He probably wouldn't remember how to do it again, but he manages a video broadcast that is hidden from one specific Lunatian resident-- Hashibira Inosuke. He's quiet at first, sitting with a silly grin on his face. He waves.]

I have a special announcement! It's my friend's birthday-- I'm sure at least some of you have met him. Hashibira Inosuke, the one that runs around without a shirt and wears a boar mask!

[He holds up a sign he's drawn crudely.]

I had someone teach me how to make this post so he can't see it, but it would mean a lot to me if you guys could wish him well today! He really likes food and fighting, so if anybody wants to wrestle a guy I can tell you where to find him. Be careful though, he takes fighting super seriously and is pretty strong! He'll mostly listen if you set rules though. I think. [He frowns.]

...if you find him and wanna fight, maybe tell me so I can make him listen, actually.

[ HEY. Don't worry about it. ]

Because Hunters are skilled and elite fighters. Even though that person searches for gourmet ingredients, it doesn't mean they can't kill a person effortlessly.

[Hey you don't worry about it, sir. He's very worried about it. He's a worrier. He nods, still frowning.]

So to be a Hunter you have to be able to do more than your specialized... hunting, skill.

[ HE AIN'T EVER GOING TO WORRY ABOUT HIS SHITTY BEHAVIOR... even when it comes back to destroy his life, he never worries! ]

You're getting it... but it's a little backwards. [ HAHA. ] Hunters are elite fighters, more or less. Our specialized skill is to be capable of killing. What we do with being considered elite is up to us.

Which is why there are those that search the world for ingredients... those that search for treasure... on and on. But the organization can always call us back to deal with situations. We have to show that while we have the skills... we also have the mentality capable of being allowed such freedom.

Make a little more sense?

[Hisoka please. Don't make Tanjiro aggressively protag you. He'll do it.]

[His expression twists up a little.]

Yeah, I guess... You explained it as ingredients first and then the killing thing, and I'm not sure why anyone would want to prioritize killing unless it's absolutely necessary. But-- that's just me, I don't know what sort of situation you come from.

[ does that mean kill him and see his sad sad life, 'cause hisoka doesn't have one. he just has bad decisions. ]

The world is a little chaotic. That's all I can say.

It certainly sounds like it...

[ ....... bruh. don't. ]

But there's something fun about that chaos.

[Listen, it's what he do. Protag powers, he doesn't make the rules.]

[He cringes a little, shaking his head.]

I mean, maybe I'm boring, but I don't find anything fun about chaos, especially if it involves people being killed.

[ ....... NO. ]

Well, it also means that people can be saved, right?

[Sorry, can't stop won't stop not sure how to stop.]

[He's... wildly uncomfortable with the overall tone of that question. Even if it's not spoken any differently, it just hangs in the air differently, and it adds more tension to his shoulders. He looks away from the screen.]

That's a really fine line.

[ He opens his hands in surrender. ]

That is the sort of world I live in... so could you explain? [ yes, small protag. please explain morals to the worst person ever. ]

[He's pretty clearly uncomfortable, but he doesn't want to be rude, either.]

...my world is similar. You knew about demons and that Inosuke and I are slayers, so you probably understand mostly where that leads. Demons eat humans, because they're nutrient-rich, so occupationally... We slay them to save humans. [He stops there, trying to decide if he wants to explain the rest of his moral standing on the topic.]

[ Hisoka nods ...

... then he holds his hand out to indicate that Tanjiro should continue. ]

[He doesn't look up.]

...not all demons are inherently evil. They eat humans, sure, but some of them only do it because it's sort of ingrained. There are some that don't do it for sport or just because they like killing, and... [He shakes his head a little.] Those are a little harder to kill. I do, because I have to and because no matter their moral compass killing a human is unforgivable... But sometimes it's harder, because they were human at one point.

That is quite sad.

[ is it? well, he can at least sound like he's pitying the people. ]

It's like putting down rabid dogs, then? Not necessarily an enjoyable process. [ so sad, so sad. ] But you want to give them respect and honor because they were once human, right? Or rather... is it all right to take your words like that?

I'd... really rather you not call it that. [Rabid dogs, he means.] And... that's more or less correct. With the exception of those who used their inhumanity to turn to killing their former kind for sport, I don't think it's fair to not honor any living thing as it dies.

[He looks briefly self-conscious.] ...not many Slayers have that outlook.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

[ A small nod. ] I think the other Slayers have the right idea, Tanjiro~

[His mouth quirks into a frown for just a moment, and his tone is just barely clipped.] I refuse to condemn someone who was human the same as I am just because they became something most never asked for. [Hit a nerve, it seems.]

[But he mellows right back out, probably much to Hisoka's annoyance, the tension going back out of his shoulders.]

...but, each Slayer has a reason for doing what they do, so I can't fault any of them for how they do their jobs, either.

[ 'ch. Hisoka is a little annoyed that the anger didn't last that long. ]

It seems to me like you may be adding unneeded stress and pain to yourself, is all. I'm sure that the other Slayers feel the same.

[Sorry 'soka, the guy that trained him literally didn't think he'd make it because he was too kind. He does get mad-- and goes a little batty when he does, honestly --but... Try harder, clearly.]

[He shakes his head.]

Finding the humanity in someone who has been forcibly turned into a demon isn't something I'm bothered by doing. [Soft.]

[ BLEH!!! ]
