[He's still not great at texting, so he had Gintoki give him some guidance on how to do some fancier technological things. He probably wouldn't remember how to do it again, but he manages a video broadcast that is hidden from one specific Lunatian resident-- Hashibira Inosuke. He's quiet at first, sitting with a silly grin on his face. He waves.]
I have a special announcement! It's my friend's birthday-- I'm sure at least some of you have met him. Hashibira Inosuke, the one that runs around without a shirt and wears a boar mask!
[He holds up a sign he's drawn crudely.]
I had someone teach me how to make this post so he can't see it, but it would mean a lot to me if you guys could wish him well today! He really likes food and fighting, so if anybody wants to wrestle a guy I can tell you where to find him. Be careful though, he takes fighting super seriously and is pretty strong! He'll mostly listen if you set rules though. I think. [He frowns.]
...if you find him and wanna fight, maybe tell me so I can make him listen, actually.

... then he holds his hand out to indicate that Tanjiro should continue. ]
Go on.

...not all demons are inherently evil. They eat humans, sure, but some of them only do it because it's sort of ingrained. There are some that don't do it for sport or just because they like killing, and... [He shakes his head a little.] Those are a little harder to kill. I do, because I have to and because no matter their moral compass killing a human is unforgivable... But sometimes it's harder, because they were human at one point.
no subject
[ is it? well, he can at least sound like he's pitying the people. ]
It's like putting down rabid dogs, then? Not necessarily an enjoyable process. [ so sad, so sad. ] But you want to give them respect and honor because they were once human, right? Or rather... is it all right to take your words like that?
i never use this icon rofl
[He looks briefly self-conscious.] ...not many Slayers have that outlook.
A WIN FOR ME!!!
[ A small nod. ] I think the other Slayers have the right idea, Tanjiro~

...but, each Slayer has a reason for doing what they do, so I can't fault any of them for how they do their jobs, either.

[He shakes his head.]
Finding the humanity in someone who has been forcibly turned into a demon isn't something I'm bothered by doing. [Soft.]

[ BLEH!!! ]
Are you sure this is the right occupation for you?
no subject
Very. I have my reasons. [That he doesn't intend to tell Hisoka.]

And I promised that I wasn't going to dig into what they were... well, so long as you're certain... that's all that matters.

[ Heh, heh, heh. ]
After all, just because a demon was once human... it doesn't mean that if they never became a demon that they wouldn't have been trash. [ :) ]
no subject
[His smile fades, but his expression is level-- even curious.]
I mean, you could argue that all humans are trash, if you look at it that way. Becoming a demon isn't usually a choice, so it doesn't have much to do with the person's prior actions.
no subject
[ his shoulders give a small shrug. ]
Those humans turned into demons... they had a choice to not kill. It would kill them for doing so but they chose their own lives over everyone else's. That is the kind of people that they turned out to be.
And you feel sorry for them... it makes me a little worried, I guess.
no subject
It's not the demons themselves I blame for that. Most forget their memories as a human and really... Aren't given the choice not to kill, it's just ingrained. Which is why I make the distinction in the first place.
no subject
You did make that distinction. [ A small sigh. ] You blame their nature, then. That nature of theirs that twisted whatever person they could have become, huh?
[ Hisoka has, unfortunately, forgotten what he was trying to do and gone into a mode of wanting Tanjiro to get mad. :T He would think the teenager would have shown some anger about how demons were forced to kill, but he just sounds sad and sympathetic. It's somewhat getting on his nerves.
A person that is capable of killing but having an aura of something soft? He doesn't like it. He wants to see real bloodlust and anger and feral status. Indeed, indeed, he knows that such a state isn't possible for ALL people who kill. But Tanjiro is young....... he can learn it. ]
Doesn't that make you mad?
no subject
[He actually considers the question for a moment, frowning slightly, shaking his head.]
I'm angry with the demon responsible for turning them all. The progenitor. Beyond that, anger at the rest of them would be misplaced.
no subject
The progenitor?
i don't have enough Stern Protagonist Speech icons for this ninny
Kibutsuji Muzan. I'm... not entirely sure how he was first turned, but it's his blood that turns every demon into what they are. He leads them with fear, and he's a wretched, cowardly being. [There's the tiniest spark of anger there, but it reads more like conviction than anything else.]
1/2 LMAO HISOKA IS WINNING SOMETHING...!!
He really thought that he would seem some anger about this Muzan, but there isn't anything. It's rather depressing. This person is exceptionally pure. How is that possible? Hisoka hasn't met an individual like this and actually takes a moment to accept that he's out of his comfort zone.
Everyone has a little bit of darkness and feral nature about them. Even the soft friends that he has, they have flashes of bright anger and tantrums. In short, he could break them at any time by destroying their own morals and hopes. But this person... this person... he's a little troubled by Tanjiro. ]

Even Kurapika, the man that wanted to revenge against the person that massacred his people had some true and honest purity to him. Dear Kurapika that spoke of justice and honor and refused to yield on these points... but Kurapika let himself be consumed with revenge and slowly blackened. Hisoka didn't have to do anything before the young man isolated himself from everyone and allowed his own corruption.
Gon has some real purity about him, too. But it is more feral, more destructive. That boy will become a real monster later and Hisoka looks forward to one day killing him. But ah, that's neither here nor there nor anywhere. The current issue is that as he stares at Tanjiro's face through the screen .... he realizes that he has not ever encountered a person like this. ]
Is that so? Do you hate him, then? Do you want revenge against him for all the pain that he has caused? [ Or maybe? Tanjiro is just the early stages of what Kurapika was. ]
