And I like music. So can anyone explain why this is so crazy?

Song can be powerful, whatever the context.

Chroma, and this world's need for it, is unlike what I am familiar with. The rare resources of my world are not generated in this manner, to be sure.

There's just, someone from my world that can make people feel her emotions. This kind of makes me think of that.

[Lapis almost assumed the person on the other end was done, but hey that's a reply.]

Oh, any time she wanted. No singing required at all.

And any emotion of her choosing as well, I take it.

Possibly, although I've only experienced her sharing her sadness.

I can't imagine that to be pleasant.

How many can such a power affect?

I felt worse.

[Which is true, Lapis has felt much worse then what Blue Diamond can dish out.]

I'm pretty sure it only affects Gems, my species, but it can hit a lot of them at once.

I'm sorry to hear that.

[ Such power must be overwhelming to deal with, felt worse or not. Sympathy is not easily conveyed in text, but she is at least sincere about that. ]

Gems..? As in, stones?

You got it, and before you say it yes I don't look like I'm made of stone. That's because my form is an illusion that I use to interact with the world.

I've encountered living stone before, but not gem-kind. You would be the first.

Well, Lapis. Emotion manipulation aside, what sort of music do you prefer?

Well, any kind except this boy band stuff? I'm not picky really, just this stuff seems off.

Their music does seem to be everywhere. It's hard to think of an example to like when you can't get away from it, save "Not that".

Other than that, I like to think I enjoy most music. Or at least most of what I've heard I liked, you know?

Yes, I do. Music seems to be something shared and enjoyed in many places.

Vocal singing is more common where I am from. There are famed choirs dedicated to Halone, but I always preferred the group songs shared in my village from when I was a child.

Singing is pretty common back home for me too. Although it used to be something only certain Gems would do, to keep other Gems entertained.

Really? What sort of gems were they?

Mostly Pearls, they were kind of like... Servants, who entertain their owners with song and dance and just. Looking pretty.
