{06 Video} un: oceanqueen

[ Bathtime musing network posts seem to be the norm for Fish and this one is just like the last one-- except with a different color water and suds (it's pink, orange, and white!) keeping the rest of them from being seen. They've got a glass of bubbly champagne and a whole bottle of the stuff to the side of the tub and it seems like the communicator's perched on a very convenient table that stretches over the tub. ]

So! It's come to my realization that I've been living in this city for over a year! And, I've been thinking about making big changes to my living space. I mean... I did make one before moving in with my now partner and moving into a bigger unit in this same building he lives in. But with the Chroma we earn between us and our other good friends, I was thinking about doing something big.

... like changing the whole building to be more customized to our needs. There's only three of us living here anyway.

What I wanted to ask was... have anyone of you made any drastic changes to your living spaces over your time living in Lunatia? How did you go about it and how did it work out? I'm curious to learn more!

The whole building? That's going to be a really big house.

Wouldn't it, darling? I mean-- it's not that tall of a building. But it's a building nonetheless! Molly, Fjord, and I are the only ones who've been residing in it for a while now and it's a shame we have to keep to the rooms we have.

What are you going to do with all that space?

[freshtilapia]

Mm...

[ They sink into their bath a little more. ]

That's a really good question. I suppose we are going to keep rooms open for if ever any of the Mighty Nein appear. And Jester's art is all over the walls... it would be a shame if we didn't preserve them in some way. I was just thinking... it would be wonderful to have that free space to move around and do things in.

That sounds really nice. It would be great if more of them arrived here.

...can I still visit?

Of course, sweetheart! Always! Our doors are always open for you! Even before we decide on making changes to this place!

Conscious of the things we do behind our doors, aren't we?

Well... yes. I'm glad you three get along well.

[ They laugh. They don't really know to what extent Connie knows about the relationships between the three of them now. ]

Well, of course, Fjord's a part of Molly's past. I'd be a bad partner if he and I didn't get along.

[wildsorcery]

[ He doesn't know that much, but he's not blind; Fjord is attractive and both Molly and Fish could have anyone they wanted, if it came to that. Even if they all were just friends, it was still safest to let them know that he was coming over. ]

He's very nice! He took me swimming and showed me a very colorful reef.

Oh did he? That's wonderful! Did you use to swim where you were from, darling?

Not really, so I am not the best of swimmers... but he cast a spell that meant I could breathe underwater, so it all worked out well.

You must have been down there too, right? It's so pretty.

That's good! I've seen it myself before, too-- on my morning swims. It's always wonderful to see what's in the depths of the ocean.

I considered a real estate agent, but my friend and I just looked up listings for vacant houses and went to go see them. Easier to get a feel for what's out there that way.

We marked off neighborhoods we found we were interested in and ended up near the beach with a decent-sized yard.

I'd definitely advise doing it that way and not budging on things you think might be essential for you.

I went about the same route when I was searching for a new apartment before, but my partner had one non-negotiable: we had to stay in the same building his friends were in. So we had to search within the building. Thankfully, there was a large first floor unit open. This building we live in is full of memories... and has a garden left by our good friends.

I think it would be nice as well to live in a detached home, but I think redesigning this building to preserve the memories within it is something my partner would much rather do.

Glad to hear that. Could easily make for some problems when you are that limited. If you could find a place with a garden and want to move, I definitely could help in transplanting whatever is in there. I've got a bit of a green thumb.

But I also understand that. Unfortunately I don't know much about that sort of thing here, though I don't doubt there are construction companies, architects, and decorators that will attend to the interior beyond just furnishings. My style is pretty minimalist so I don't think I'd be much help personally.

With all the Chroma being generated in our building, I think we certainly do something extraordinary with this place. I just have to find the right connections for it. I might have a talk with some of the Prismals I work with at Club Tourmaline, then.

I hope it pans out the way you'd like. I've spent a long time back home looking for a place that feels comfortable. You should hold onto it once you've got that comfort, you know?

My! I feel honored to know someone who'd be intimidating for me! Thank you.

Honestly, I've spent a couple of years just wandering about. No comfort, no permanence. In the past year I've lived here, I've felt a kind of belonging I never thought I'd be able to feel. That alone brings me so much comfort.
