Oh, I just know some people who say they're "asking for a friend" when really they mean themselves. I like to be as transparent as I can.

It seems like it happens randomly. Praying to the gods might have something to do with it, but I'd have to test it out for myself to be sure.

Do we know each other? I don't mind being Cordis at all, really, I just thought Iris might help with some of my boyfriend's recent changes. At least around the triple moons.

Not at all, no. It's more that, well, you saw Aymeric yourself so you know what I mean when I say he's gotten very, very tall. Proportion-wise, it makes it difficult to do certain things that I might like to do during the triple moons... assuming he still turns into a dragon once those days come around.

I understand the problems of being of a smaller stature. I'm at least a full head shorter than my partner - and really most others in general. I don't know how being Iris would help with that, though. Are those under Iris known to grow? Wouldn't it be simpler to be Sanguis as well?

That's good to hear! He's had quite a time of being Sanguis -- it's not quite like him, so I think he feels it more intensely, if you ask me.

Well, normally Aymeric is a foot taller than me. Now he's almost two. I suppose if I got bigger, that might solve some things... Otherwise it's going to require a lot of maneuvering to keep up with him. Maneuvering which I believe might be easier under Iris, since they have certain changes that help with that kind of thing.

He mentioned that, which intrigued me. I'm starting to believe Moonblessings have very little to do with someone's personality upon arrival.

... Certain things? I'll be honest, I've seen and heard very little about Iris so I genuinely don't know what you could be referring to.

It's true, they seem to go in one of two directions. Either they're someone's direct opposite, or they suit their personality perfectly. The middling ground doesn't seem common at all.

I see. I'll just be out with it then. Iris are self-lubricating, and they have a heightened tolerance for pain. Does that make sense?

You think Aymeric is the complete opposite of Sanguis? I don't know him well, but I'd asked if it surprised him, being Sanguis, and he hadn't made any mention of that.

Yes when you put it that way, it makes perfect sense.

Perhaps not directly, but he certainly tries not to be. Aymeric is a fierce warrior, but he is also a diplomat. He holds back quite a lot around most people, but Sanguis brings that all out.

[A fierce warrior? That tidbit of information did surprise him. Though being a diplomat did not. Qih'sae was right. Aymeric seemed far too... soft, gentle, withdrawn, to be something so violence prone as Sanguis.

What did that say about Lio, then? He certainly didn't feel it was 'opposite' to his personality, particuarly given its association with fire. He felt a little sick, though, to think he'd be pegged as someone prone to violence...

Of course that would be anyone's first impression of him. Ugh...]

No, I understand. From what you described, he seems the type who might be senstive to causing issues, even if they're beyond his control.

Not that I imagine my size will ever be an issue, Sanguis changes or not, but I wouldn't want to hurt my partner. And yet I can't imagine wanting to switch, either.

Barring your sudden and miraculous change to Iris, you should probably just communicate your concerns with him.

Yes, exactly. He's a man of peace, he likes to solve problems with his words. But it doesn't help that he comes from a culture that values emotional repression. I think he's probably like... a teapot? Simmering isn't really a problem, but Sanguis can cause his emotions to boil over.

That's true. Neither of us would want the other to be hurt. We'll likely need to make some adjustments, but that's alright. I doubt that I'll just change moonblessings from simply wishing for it.

More and more he's starting to sound a lot like my opposite. I'm a man of action. Granted in my situation, words would no longer do any good. I think most people in some sort of leadership position, though, like to keep their emotions in check. Myself included.

Never say never. But he's lucky to have a boyfriend looking out for his needs like that.

Precisely. You can't be a leader if you don't hold yourself in check. And he's taken plenty of action when matters of war and peace are concerned. It sounds like the two of you would get along well.
