I'm just gonna come out and say it. Today's my birthday! I'm nineteen... I think... My last birthday, I was eighteen, so I'm gonna count this!

Haaa. I've been here for almost a year...

[his smile falters just the smallest bit, but then he's pushing whatever brief bout of melancholy he has to the back of his mind and waves his arms]

If you wanna come visit me, I'll be around! My door's open! I've got snacks and games out!

[Almost a year... just like Weiss. Ren is beginning to wonder if he'll ever get a chance to go back. It seems people either bounce around or are here for the long term, and there's not much in between.

Still, birthday! Birthday is important!]

I can stop by. Would you be alright with me bringing Tadashi? I know you wanted to meet him at some point.

[Luckily Tadashi is quite the well behaved doggo, so there won't need to be much. Concern is understandable when you're meeting a new dog for the first time in your own home.

Ren arrives a little while later, carrying a bag in one hand and a dog leash in the other, knocking lightly before entering as is the polite thing to do, of course.]

[Osomatsu's there to open the door, with his party hat. inside, there is music going, but nothing too loud. and there are streamers and a few balloons]

[Ren smiles lightly, motioning down to the large fluffy dog sitting next to him obediently, waiting to be invited in.]

And this is Tadashi.

[Osomatsu crouches down a bit to see the excited puppy, holding out his hand for him to sniff, or lick. that's the polite thing to do, right? then he smiles up at Ren]

[He's got it right. Tadashi sniffs as expected, then of course gives a happy lick. Hello, new friend!]

Yeah, I'd believe it. You haven't had him for very long, right?

[hehe doggy slobber. but it's okay. Osomatsu gives Tadashi a quick pet before rising to his feet slowly]

Adopted him not long after I got here, and he was about four months at the time.

[He would like more pets but for now he can wait patiently for a better time. Clearly he's already liked well enough to get all the attention, right?]

[oh! Osomatsu blinks, but then perks right up. another gift of food. he's having such a good day!]

[He's glad Osomatsu is happy with it, though. Food is always a good fall back when you're unsure.]

Is it okay if I take Tadashi's leash off? He usually sticks by my side anyway.

[he's closed off the back of the apartment. he will go and get some party hats, though]

I appreciate it. I know having your birthday somewhere other than home isn't the most ideal situation but it looks like you're making the best of it.

[He sets the bag down and bends to take the leash off Tadashi, twisting it until it's small enough to be tucked in a pocket. Tadashi, as expected, simply sits there panting happily, just glad to be around people.]
