Not always.

Usually it's a few bursts like this, then the rest of the month is calm.

Still, a few bursts is still troublesome.

I can't help but worry.

It is a bit troubling, I can imagine.

I would say one learns to endure, though that cannot be very comforting.

No. I'm afraid it isn't.

And I can't imagine it's comforting to others, either.

Apologies. I forget that some have different thresholds for this sort of thing.

Has anything particularly untoward happened?

No more than what has happened to others.

I'm merely sensitive to the plights of others. I was once a leader of a large populous. Their troubles were my troubles. I never believed that the one that sat on the top should be sitting easier than the one that was at "the bottom."

A King?

But I can understand. It is difficult to see others struggling against a force we do not understand. Even more so when it is alien to our previous experiences.

[impiety]

No. An Archangel. It's a title for the order I was part of. It means that I was its leader.

And yes, exactly. Suffering is suffering no matter if it is alien to how we may view it, and we must show compassion to everyone. Prismals and Moonblessed alike.

Archangel? That is an unusual title, but then again many orders are like that.

You speak true. Especially for the Prismals, since are but guests to them.

You've encountered orders before?

Yes, and we have been acting as poor guests to their way of life.

I am a knight and thus part of one such prestigious order. Assuming we are speaking in general terms.

I am surprised they do not despite us more.

[impiety]

Speaking in general terms is fine with me, sir knight.

It's because we would be despising invaders in our own world. Their culture and beliefs are far different than our own. We should attempt to make life easier for them, too.

I realize I talk quite lofty for someone who has just arrived, but as I said, it's the fault of being one that watched over for others for so long.

Lofty goals are a fine thing, I believe. Necessary even.

It is our duty to do what we can for others and it's always wonderful to find another who feels the same way.

[impiety]

True, we don't know how far we can go unless we put those goals before us.

That's right. It is a duty. No one else seems to be willing to accept it, anyway. [ NOT THAT HE'S BITTER OR ANYTHING!!! ]

[galatining]

In all honesty, I think people are not sure how to go about it. Especially in this place.

For many of us, it is a bit out of our element, this world.

[If only there was someone strong willed, like the King. Granted, the King had fallen under this burden...]

I suppose it is that they've never had to think about anyone else other than themselves.

This isn't a bad thing. Those that are not meant to rule should think about themselves first. They should think of how to keep themselves safe and well. But it makes life difficult for them when they are in ... situations like we find here.

Honestly, I think of it the way I would have though of a peasant in my own time: how can I expect them to lay down their lives, when they are just living their lives the best they can?

That is what a knight is for. What the King is for.

Of course, that's is what makes these times so difficult, because the roles are a bit more flexible.

[Sometimes he's still old fashioned.]

That's only a little true, though...

While the roles may be a little more flexible, the goal is still the same. Lofty and ridiculous in the eyes of others... our wish to save, protect and guide them.

You're only making it difficult because you're trying to understand your role... and not how to fulfill your purpose, right?
