Because they may only need a kind hand to change their ways.

I have some means to deter a person from harming me, but I fear that I am not much of a fighter.

Then be sure to bring a weapon with you or someone who can fight. You don't want to be caught offguard and unarmed.

I did used to have a guard that would watch over me. But I fear I don't have anything like that here, and I would rather be a person that is without weapon than one that is with.

Unless you are offering to the person to fight for me.

I fight for only myself and my family.
But if you're ever in a questionable situation and I'm nearby, I'll come to your aid.

And, it is and it isn't. When I joined the Order of my world, they gave me a new name. I accepted it and considered it an oath to not stop until my goal for peace becomes real.

[That's a surprise. It's weirdly honorable in theory, but there's blatant disrespect towards their ancestors with that action-giving up their family name and tossing aside that bond. All for the sake of an organization and a dream. The whole thing rubs him the wrong way.]

I do... but it is one that I decided to walk as soon as I left my family.
They were little more than murderers and those that used their privilege to ruin the lives of the innocent.
I'm more than happy to not be associated with them anymore.
