The name's Cid Garlond and I'm not used to doing the announcing, speechy, public relations kind of thing but I'm gonna try anyway.

Back in my home world I ran an engineering collective called Garlond Ironworks. Ragtag bunch of fellows who were bright and talented but escaping persecution from the Garlemald Empire. Now I understand these names mean nothing to you but our main goal is probably something most people get: freedom through technology. The same kind of tools that the Empire was using to suppress us, we'd turn it around to fight back against 'em.

Not like there's any that sort of thing happening here, but I'm a sucker for familiar things and I've gotten me a fancy permit saying I can set up shop here. Garlond Ironworks is officially recruiting folks to help get it off the ground. Now the Lunar Scientiae are doing all sorts of useful things, but I figured we can really go wild and do things with less practical applications.

Also I'm not just looking for engineers! I uh, tend to forget that research projects require money so I'll need someone who'll make sure I won't spend it all at once. And someone to make sure we don't overwork ourselves and reminds us to eat, even if it means dragging us by the legs to get some food.

Some of my lot from back home have aetherometers that we've adapted to look at Chroma here. It's rudimentary, but it'll do. Our first order of business is trying to make more of them so we're not just using our tech with stuff added on.

I'm unfamiliar with those, but I do have experience with a program we used back home that can detect specific energies put out by living beings. I've been able to modify it since leaving my world to be able to observe and analyze a much wider range of energies. I should be able to recreate it here if I can find compatible equipment for scanning.

That sounds interesting! Just from living energies, you say?

Yeah. There's some fine tuning to filter out frequencies from mechanical and other background sources, but it's fairly easy to identify those as their location tends to be static, as opposed to living energies that are free to move about.

Sakuya Tachibana. Head Researcher for BOARD, which mostly focuses on finding medical solutions for currently incurable ailments. Most of our work involves a wide range of analysis, which led our team into developing some specific technical solutions.

The energy signature tracking was something developed out of necessity not long after I joined the company when a number of immortal creatures wound up unleashed on the world and had to be tracked down before they could destroy it. I've had a lot of success adapting it to other situations, the last world I was in.
