004 » Video; UN: Persephone

[ This is something Persephone probably should have done a few months ago.

There is a very pink young woman on the screen. She gives a sheepish little wave as she smiles.

] Hello, my name is Persephone and I'm the Goddess of Spring back home. Yes, I'm an actual goddess, it's not just a title. Yes, I am as pink as I appear, I'm not sunburned. [ Her gaze drifts away from the camera as ticks off things that have been brought up to her. Her tone is cheerful. ] And yes, for the humans from various different versions of Earth, I am the Persephone of Greek Myth. But the stories you know are wrong...to an extent. If you have any questions pertaining to that I'll do my best to answer them.

Also, you don't have to treat me special or anything just because I'm a goddess! I'm really normal aside from the fact I randomly grow flowers in my hair sometimes. [ It's really not that random. ]

A-anywho! I'm making this post for a reason beyond that. One, I'm curious if there are any other deities from other worlds here. I've met one and spoke with another, though I believe she's gone now. If you are a deity I'm curious how being here has affected your abilities. I-if you wish to share, that is!

For anyone else, I'd like to hear about the gods of your world. If you have them.

I do! That was a long time ago in my world. So it's all neon and fancy?

[There's a few seconds where he fumbles with his equipment so he can make this private. He thinks he's got it? Probably.]

I don't think I could travel there anyway but if I could, that won't be a problem.

Maybe a little fancy but I wouldn't say the neon colours are as common.

[ She doesn't change any of the settings to private but she'll try after this if his response seems like the kind of thing he doesn't want everyone knowing. ]

Umm...well it's a little embarrassing...

[Especially that even if they aren't related, and from different worlds but some of the pantheon would be familiar.]

I'm not a mortal either. I'm Death in my world.

[Look at this tall lanky boy who is apparently Death.]

I was meant to bring the Fall by awakening Nyx.

[He holds up his arms.]

But it's okay, I was defeated by a miracle!

[Oh. Okay.]

[ Oh, yeah, definitely switching over to private as he had. Maybe had?

It's so hard to tell. ]

Oh. Your world certainly is different.

[ She kind of knows who Nyx is and has met Thanatos, he's actually her coworker, but she's not aware of his parentage. ]

So you didn't go around collecting Shades to bring to the Underworld?

No. I'm the culmination of shadows...the appraiser of the Fall.

[He doesn't sound too happy about it.]

The only reason I have a human form and emotions is that ten years ago, I was sealed inside of a human in their attempts to stop me. I grew alongside him, and then regained consciousness as pieces of myself were last year returned. That's why I got to like flowers! And people! And maybe snooping on girls bathing.

In the end, I returned to my true form, knowing that the fall inevitable and everything was going to die...but then a miracle happened. It was postponed. Hopefully forever. Then another miracle, and I arrived here, where I got to see him alive again, and still having my human-like form. And another piece of myself too, from another world where it wasn't him, but a her.

[!!! oh no he's rambling.]

Sorry! That's probably a lot of boring details.

[ Persephone sits and listens without interrupting him. It seems like the kind of thing he's needed to get off his chest. She wishes she could do more than listen, maybe give him a hug or hold his hand.

Although if she could make out the bit about snooping on girl bathing she might give him an earful for it. Sure, she doesn't have any qualms about bathing with other people but snooping is rude!

When he's done she gives him a sympathetic smile. ]

It's okay. I don't mind listening if you need to get something off your chest.

[Look it's not his fault that Japanese etiquette says boys and girls should be bathing separately! But he's fine, he's been punished for his actions.

Probably.

He does look like he feels a little better, as he smiles right back at her.]

I think that's it actually. Oh! I'm glad I get to feel more emotions again, since they are both very horrible, but also very amazing.

[Words to live by.]

I have non-human forms, but I like this one better. Well as much as I can like things, even if that's not the real me.

It's still a little hard to figure out, but I'm getting the hang of it.

[In many ways, very much like most humans.]

[ To be fair, Persephone is used to bathing with other women. The only time she's bathed with someone of the opposite sex was the few time Hermes was around without her mother knowing. ]

Sometimes I wish I could turn my emotions offs. [ She frowns and looks away from the camera.

There's a short moment before her head snaps back and she lets out a soft laugh, forcing a smile because she doesn't want him to feel bad. ]

We-well I'm glad you're managing to figure things out. And it has. I've learned a lot about other worlds and a little about mortals.

[ Hermes is so lucky - Ryoji probably.]

No you don't! [Woops that was an outburst and he looks a little guilty.] What I mean is now that I got a lot of them back, I realize I didn't like it. It meant I knew what I had to do but at the same time it felt so...empty.

Mortals are the best! I'm thankful everyday that I got to live inside of Minato!

[Out of context that must sound so bad.]

[ She flinches in response to the outburst. She decides to let it go because it seems like the kind of thing that could cause some friction. ]

Live inside? [ She's so confused. ]

[Oh woops. He probably had gotten a little too excited about that. Sometimes it is hard with all of these emotions (thinks the guy who says emotions are important).]

Well I suppose trapped is the better word for it, since they had captured and sealed me inside of him. But because of that, we have a deep connection and that's why I have human emotions and a human form.

Humans...may not live for a long time, but because of that they are capable of so many things we wouldn't think they'd be able to do...

[ She nods. Now that's something she understands. ]

That's why I try to do things the way they do instead of using my abilities all the time. I want to better understand them and not lose my sympathy for them.

Growing flowers is great too...you could run a flower shop! In a world where people like each other a lot that would mean a lot of business!

[Important discussion to have.]

Plus with someone as pretty as you, you'd get lots of repeat customers!

I have finally been able to start properly growing flowers in a garden. Though I'd really like somewhere bigger to do it.

[ And now she's blushing again. ]

Um...yeah.

Maybe we should go looking for larger gardens!

[That's not how it works.]

Or maybe parks!

[ He's kind a precious with his suggestions, which causes Persephone to chuckle softly. ]

Actually, I was thinking of moving out of this apartment in the near future. So I thought that wherever I move I would make sure I have space for my own garden.

[Ryoji is thinking which is...probably dangerous. Well he can't tell her to come over because he already lives with someone (and their cat).]

Oh! Maybe you should look into the city that opened up that's more Japanese-style with the kitsune foxes. They have more wooden houses, but you could probably just grow around it! It is two hours away from here, in human steps.

[Otherwise...]

Do you have enough money to move out! I don't mind holding hands if you need funding!

[Wow.]

[ She'll say she's grown used to living on her own, but that'd be a lie. ]

That's okay! I thought I should offer in case you needed it. It would be a crime not to hold your hand if you're nearby!

Her cheeks are glowing hot pink as she shrinks down on the couch. He seems intent on causing her to explode. ]

Y-yeah. Um... It's been nice talking with you but I should really see about starting dinner.

[Oh no oh no, maybe that was a little too much? Maybe it's the Arisato curse...the both of them making him this and--no he needs to take this head on.]

O-okay! I'm sorry if I embarrassed you...I didn't mean to do that! I really hope we can talk again...as much as I love them, it's nice speaking to others who aren't human either...

[He does a very Japanese bow, adding;]

I-it's okay. I'm just not used to all the compliments.

[He looks...surprised.]

REALLY? Wow, were they just blind in your world?

I grew up in a valley with just my mother and a whole lot of nymphs?

[ Shrugging. ]
