004 » Video; UN: Persephone

[ This is something Persephone probably should have done a few months ago.

There is a very pink young woman on the screen. She gives a sheepish little wave as she smiles.

] Hello, my name is Persephone and I'm the Goddess of Spring back home. Yes, I'm an actual goddess, it's not just a title. Yes, I am as pink as I appear, I'm not sunburned. [ Her gaze drifts away from the camera as ticks off things that have been brought up to her. Her tone is cheerful. ] And yes, for the humans from various different versions of Earth, I am the Persephone of Greek Myth. But the stories you know are wrong...to an extent. If you have any questions pertaining to that I'll do my best to answer them.

Also, you don't have to treat me special or anything just because I'm a goddess! I'm really normal aside from the fact I randomly grow flowers in my hair sometimes. [ It's really not that random. ]

A-anywho! I'm making this post for a reason beyond that. One, I'm curious if there are any other deities from other worlds here. I've met one and spoke with another, though I believe she's gone now. If you are a deity I'm curious how being here has affected your abilities. I-if you wish to share, that is!

For anyone else, I'd like to hear about the gods of your world. If you have them.

So does that mean humans came first?

Nope.

So you can see how complicated this may end up to be. If you say a god existed since time began and give them that power, does it make the god or the people more powerful?

It's like the mystery of what came first...the chicken or the egg? Or maybe the chicken dreamed about the egg or the egg dreamed about the chicken and therefore they both existed.

Truth be told, I didn't think about any of that before I gained my powers.

That's really interesting though confusing.

I can say for certain that we came first in my world.

[He nods and then adds;]

I could show you what I can do, but it's better to do it face to face. If you're okay with that, of course. Also it's a secret! You can't tell others. I'm only telling you because I can tell you're not an enemy.

[Oh. Cool?]

I won't tell anyone. [ Who would she tell anyway? ]

Promise. [ Her certainly has her interest with this. ]

[He stays silent for a few seconds before he (somewhat dramatically) takes his glasses off. Now he looks a lot more serious.]

Your address, please?

Is it safe for you to use your abilities indoors? [ She's worried about her plants.

Still, she adds her room number in the provided apartments. ]

Probably best outdoors. I'll come get you, and we can go to the rooftop.

[Aka, his favorite spot for anything at this point.]

I'll see you soon.

[The feed cuts and a few minutes later, there's a knock at one of her...windows? It's ~~Batman~~ ~~Cake Knight~~ someone with a fancy mask and a strange outfit. If she opens the window, he'll add;]

It's me. I didn't say my name, so we'll go with 'Joker' for now since that's what I call myself when I'm dressed like this.

[He'll also extend his hand.]

I can carry you to the rooftop.

[ She waits, expecting a knock at the door so when it comes from the window instead she taken by surprise. She takes a moment to calm herself before opening the window. ]

Oh...this is unexpected.

[ She doesn't seem too surprised by him flying, however. He had mentioned he had some powers that were somehow related to gods, after all. ]

No need. [ She motions for him to move aside as her form lifts into the air. ]

I might have cheated.

[As much as Joker would love to fly, he is using his hover board that he bought from the shop. He moves as she starts to fly on her own, raising an eyebrow.]

Oh! I didn't know you had that power from my mythology studies.

[But like she had said, she wasn't exactly the same. That does mean he can just climb 'normally'. Parking the board in his hands, he begins to jump with inhuman speed from one of the building's emergency exit to another in a showcase of acrobatics.]

Let's go then.

[It doesn't take him too long to reach the building's rooftop, giving them a good view of the city's level.]

Do you fly often? I only can during full moons in full but even then my wings aren't located in my back. It makes it slightly harder.

Oh! [ She chuckles as he points out the hover board. ]

A lot of the gods can fly with or without the aid of wings.

[ With a little burst of speed, Persephone could easily outpace him and beat him to the roof but she decides to move along at the same speed as him. ]

It's kind of drain on my Chroma so I try to limit myself. [ She has some very inefficient Chroma usage if only because she can't control her powers. Not from a lack of trying, mind, simply because they're tied so closely to her emotions. ]

They're not on your back?

I figured that might be the case. We can go back down with the hoverboard if you want.

[Or hold hands, but he won't offer that just right away. At her question, he points to his lower back.]

They show up here so it unbalances my body. It was harder the first time I used them, admittedly.

[Have you ever seen a god float ass-first because that is what was happening.]

So. Shall I begin? Do you want to get a seat? You could use the hoverboard.

No, that's fine. It's a very short distance so it's not like it uses up too much.

[ She tilts her head a little as she looks to his lower back, trying to imagine wings growing from there. It certainly doesn't sound like they'd be very useful. ]

I can see how that'd throw off one's balance.

[ She also imagines it'd be quite comical and can't help but grin a little at the imagery. ]

Sure. Um, I'm fine with the ground. [ Look, she doesn't trust a lot of tech to not go crazy in her hands.

She plops down with her legs crisscrossed on the round, resting her elbows on her knees as she watches him. ]

Alright. [He won't argue. He's not here to make her uncomfortable, after all, it was his idea to come up here.]

I worked it out by the end. I'd show you, but it's not Cordis right now.

[It's not that he can hear her thoughts at least, just that he was thinking similarly.]

Alright. It might be for the best actually.

[When she sits down, he nods at her with a grin, before moving a little farther away so that she's get a full view of the show, but also so that she won't be too disoriented when he takes his masks and suddenly removes it.]

Satanael!

[A burst of bluish energy explodes from around him, bluish flames rising up but the effect seems to be mostly for effect can actual heat. A burst of wind from all directions, and a grandiose figure materializes behind him, floating as all six wings open up.

The flames never leaving Joker's face, the figure itself moves forward to give her a small, of dramatic bow, almost echoing his movements.]

That is Satanael, one of my other selves.

[It extends a hand? claw? In greeting. Despite being nearly twice the height of the person who summoned him, it appears to be quite a gentleman.]

Oh, well, that's okay.

[ As amusing as it might have been to see him struggle to fly at first -- or as fascinating as it might be to see once he'd figured it out -- she's fine with it not being Cordis right now.

She watches him closely, eyes widening at his display of power. The fire is concerning but when it seems to be more for show than anything else she's less worried about that and more worried about the large figure that appears.

In the end, she's standing again if only so she can give a little curtsy in response to the bow. She's not really sure how to respond otherwise. Does he speak and is he aware like a separate entity? Or he just an extension of Joker?

She looks back and forth between Satanael and Joker. ] Wow.

[It's a little like both. Having a little voice inside of you that encourages to go apeshit when the time is right to fight back.

The Persona giving its wings a brief flap before it disappears again, and the darkness around Joker's face melts away, making the mask manifest once more on his face. He looks pleased at her reaction.]

That's not the only one I am able to use...a few of us are what are known as wildcards - those with the ability to call upon more than one Persona. They are reflections of the many mythologies of my world...I don't have any with me, but I do have a few Greek themed Personas. [He gives her another smile.] Although not our world equivalent of you, I'm afraid.

[ Persephone knows what it's like to have a little voice like that. She often fights against it and tries to keep it in check but sometimes that red-eyed side comes out and causes trouble for her. ]

Ah, I spoke with someone else that mentioned similar abilities.

[ She gives him a curious look. ] You don't have to show me but I am curious about the Greek Personas.

Really? It's probably a friend, in that case. We've tried to contact each other despite the fact we come from different times.

[He has to think and dig back to the recess of his mind.]

There's a few. I could summon all three of the fates...Dionysus was very...colorful? Like he'd been dipped in colors. My friend, Panther, she has Hectate as a Persona, looking very furious, with two snarling dogs on chains. Fortunata looked like someone had a wheel in the middle of their bodies...I think that's mostly it. Other wildcards have more access to Greek Personas. I know Michel was able to summon Hades, but I think both him and Miyabi left recently.

[That, and he only knew because he was able to summon them. Ren is not all that knowledgeable about all the gods and demons that he can't summon.]

I see.

[ Most of the names he lists off she's unfamiliar with. They might exist in her world but given how little contact she's had with Olympus she wouldn't know for sure. She knows of the Fates but has never met them. The mentions of Hecate and Hades cause her to perk up with the latter causing blue flowers to bloom in her hair. ]

That's quite a few though I don't recognize most of them.

[Oh, that sure is a neat reaction. Although Ren knows enough about mythology to know what might be gone on. He decides to be a gentleman and not point it out to her.]

I wish I could show them to you, but I have no means of being able to summon them. However, the Personas I have right now allow me to cast a multitude of spells and I'm able to withstand attacks as well.

[Would she even know?]

A bit like a video game.

[Worth a try.]

[ She's grown pretty used to people pointing out the flowers when they grow on her head. And she's not completely unaware of them, she can feel when they grow though she doesn't know what they look like (unless it comes to Hades, she knows for a fact it's always blue flowers). ]

I've never played a video game before but that sounds pretty neat.
