Hello to anyone who's seeing this. My name is Malcolm Bright and I'm from New York, Earth... 2020. [ That still feels weird to say, but he feels like it helps give people an idea of the world that he comes from. ] Lately I've been doing yoga in the mornings out in one of the parks on Level 2 and I thought I'd put it out there to see if anyone wanted to join me. I'm not a yoga teacher by any means, and you might be better served to see if there's a class at the gym if you really want to learn, but I'm willing to help anyone who's a beginner.

Or, if you'd just rather come and do your own thing while I do mine, that's fine too. [ He realizes that it will be hard to work on his breathing and mindfulness if he has to try to show somebody the poses at the same time. ] We can talk after.

[ Malcolm's looking forward to hopefully meeting some new people this way. This place is huge and he knows he's only scratched the surface when it comes to interactions with his fellow Moonblessed. ]

[ Oh, no. No, he's no cat but he'd find it cute to be compared to one. Caduceus is a humanoid creature called a Firbolg. Very gentle, tall beings that tend to keep themselves to themselves. Goodness knows what his moon is going to make him look like. This is his normal form I'm afraid. ]

I'm a really good student. You'll be just great at it. I have a gut feeling about you.

[ Smiling into the video. In fact, if Malcolm was so inclined, he might even notice himself feeling calmer, at ease or relaxed simply from listening to the Cleric's voice. He had that effect on people. ]

Wow, an anxiety attack? ... Your techniques must be pretty good to calm that. Normally I'd use magic. You have to teach me this yoga, I feel I'm being pushed in this direction for a reason.

Do you?

[ Malcolm's a man of intuition himself. Part of his job is gut feelings, which he usually backs up with hard evidence when he gets it. He can't arrest people on intuition alone. ]

They're grounding techniques, reminding the person of where they are and what's happening in the moment. [ He... might have used them on himself more than once. ] You can do magic?

I do.

[ He chuckles. Maybe that's why Caduceus was drawn to him? Maybe he could tell they were alike in some ways? Or maybe not! Who knows anyway, am I right?

As he explains the grounding techniques, the Cleric seems to be taking it all in. He could use some of that to help his friends back home when things got hectic. it would be really useful and hopefully, help them not expend so much magic instead. ]

Sounds like you've got a lot of experience with it. Oh and um. sure I do magic all the time. Can you do magic?

Yeah... my line of work, sometimes I have to help calm people down after they've experienced something traumatic. I work with the police.

[ He's also used them on himself a fair few times. ]

I can't. Real magic doesn't exist where I come from.

Yea, I eh, I get people come visiting my graveyard that have experienced something traumatic too. It's kinda my job to look after them and the dead they've lost.

[ He pauses to think for a moment. ]

What's a police? Ah, y'know, a lot of folks are telling me they don't got magic in their world. I'm starting to feel a little different. Heh.

[ The Cleric laughed a little like he didn't feel different all ready despite what he looked like. ]

Law enforcement? [ Maybe that helps straighten it out for him. ]

Do you manage a graveyard? Just manage or do you prepare bodies for burial as well?

Ah, right I get ya, like a Crowns Gaurd.

[ He kind of gets it? Just never heard them called Police before. ]

Both. I eh, I look after the graves, make sure they're not disturbed. I also tend to the bodies after they die. Look after the folk that come to see them too. It's a really nice way of life.

Probably close enough.

[ Most people would probably find that morbid but Malcolm... doesn't. ]

What do you like best about it?

[ He gets the vibe from Malcolm that he's a nice dude. Most people think Caduceus is pretty grim and gloomy, so it's nice when someone can see past that. Death and dying doesn't have to be dark and scary, just look at how pretty and pink this guy is! ]

Oh, I couldn't possibly pick just one thing. though... I really do love it when the flowers start to bloom from the graves. Getting to make tea from the leaves and petals and tasting what kind of people they were.

[ It probably helps that Malcolm works with the police and catches serial killers for a living and has been around death and darkness for a while. He feels like their medical examiner Edrisa would probably get along with this guy, though-

Wait a minute, what? ]

You... make tea from plants that grow on graves?

[ Caduceus had an unnaturally strong passive perception, he could kind of pick up on the darkness that Malcolm had possibly seen. Maybe that was why he was so easy to talk to?

To the question, Caduceus grinned widely. ]

...Don't we all?

[ No, no Caduceus not everyone did. You'd think he'd have learnt this by now. Sorry. ]

[ Malcolm blinks. ]

I don't think they do.

I'm fairly sure tea plants do not grow on graves where I come from.

[ His cunning smile was worn with pride as he listened to the human talk of tea and death. ]

Then our worlds must be so very different. In Exandria, more specifically the part I'm from, it's kind of my families thing we do. People come from all around, from all walks of life, to end up like a plant in the Blooming Grove.

So when you say... taste what kind of people they were... [ Malcolm waves a hand, furrowing his brow. ] What... exactly do you mean by that?

Ah well you see, each person tastes different. Like the Earl, I've got in my pouch. He always had a lot to say and was very well-travelled. He had a kick of flavour in him that you couldn't deny, stated like sunflower seeds and faint perfume.

[ It sounds a lot creepier than it really is! The people he drinks all want to be buried in his families Grove, they see it as an honour to be returned The Wildmother and happy that they're bodies produce something others can enjoy. ]

Y'know, it would be easier for you to just have a cup of tea and see for yourself.

So... more metaphorically than physically?

[ Malcolm grimaces a bit at that suggestion. ]

You have some of your tea here with you?

Ah well, a bit of both maybe?

[ He's used to people having that reaction. Until they actually try his tea and are pleasantly surprised. ]

Always do. Wouldn't leave home without some.

[ Though, without knowing where the graveyard is here or if there even is one, his supplies would fast become lacking. ]

I don't know how much choice we had in what came here with us, though I was happy with what I got, at least.

[ The more he thinks about it the more he's morbidly curious, pardon the pun. Malcolm still has to wonder what Edrisa would think of grave tea. ]

You know what? Why not? I'll try it.

Then the Wildmother really was pushing fate in my favour the day I left her to come here. Still, I could always find a corpse and make some more if she hadn't.

[ Never, ever, apologise for morbid curiosity! Caduceus was always pleased when things took a dark turn, he loved talking about such topics and would encourage others to do so too.

When Malcolm agrees to partake in some tea, well, Caduceus simply beams with delight. ]

Ah, sir, you're a good sport. You won't be disappointed, I assure you. Just say the word and I'll pop on over and brew you up a nice Earl.

[ He kind of can't believe that he's agreeing to this, but there's no turning back now. ]

Sure. Um.. don't take this the wrong way, but nobody has ever gotten sick from the tea, have they?

[ In his world, dead bodies easily grow bacteria and other harmful organisms. Whether those things could leech into a plant grown from the body is anyone's guess, but he still feels like he has to ask. ]

[ Oh, he could always change his mind! Caduceus wouldn't be offended, he's far too laid back and easy going. ]

Has anyone ever gotten sick from the tea?... Hmmm.

[ Just him a moment to think. A looooooong moment that is. With a smile after he's done pondering, the firbolg pulls a reassuring smile. ]

I can't say that I know if they have or not? Not around me anyway. But, if you do, for some reason, get sick. I'm a Cleric, I can just restore you to how you were before.

[ It's a long, semi-stressful moment as Malcolm waits for the reply. ]

Ah. [ He's going to presume that's some kind of healer. ] I only ask because bodies where I come from tend to grow bacteria that's not good for you. Not sure if that would transfer to the plant or not. My friend back home would probably know.

[ He doesn't mean to stress you out, Malcolm, he'd very sorry about that! ]

That's very true. Though the bodies I make tea from, the bacteria have long since died off. They've been through intense stages of decomposition, my friend. No bugs here, just dry remains and just lovely, refreshing tea.

[ Lovely, refreshing tea. Absolutely. ]

Right. Well. I guess I'm game to try it at some point.

I'll hold you to it, sir!

[ Caduceus was happy with that! He took most people at their word, he was sure Malcolm was a man of his word.

And with that, he bit the other a farewell, he'd taken up enough of his time already. ]
