[Everyone's favorite attention seeker is back, with a very important request! Dazai is dressed to the nines (as usual), and there's a huge smile on his face. His eyes are a bit darker than his smile, but maybe that's because he's thinking about things...]

Ahem! Hello, everyone! You may already know this, but I, the great Dazai Osamu, will soon be celebrating an important day! That's right, it's almost my birthday.

[And his death anniversary is even nearer, but. Whatever. He's trying not to think about that. So... in all honesty, this is all for a huge distraction.]

I have a request! I know it's unfathomable for me to be selfish on my birthday, but I'm doing it. Anyway, the request.

When I was alive, a lot of really cool technology like what they have here didn't exist at all. Therefore, your task is to tell me about your favorite thing that didn't exist a long time ago. How long? Long enough. Don't ask.

Things that are here are fair game. In fact, if it's here, bonus points to you, and I'll write you a short story if you take me to see it yourself.

[ His eyes narrow a little as he's examined, but he doesn't protest. It makes sense, after all. This Dazai's world has a Kunikida that looks completely different from how he does. He recalls being told that. ]

I ... see. [ There's no point in repeating what he's already said. He's Dazai's partner from home. That's that. He does, however, need to comment on the love of a specific color as it's a bit strange to him. ] Why do you love red so much? Is there a particular reason?

Yes, writing by hand has a cathartic feel to it, but typing on a computer is faster. I do both.

[He's cotton candy pink-haired and has a voice that tends toward bratty, but Dazai respects him well enough. He's one of the authors that's been around a while. He just... isn't really big best buds with that school.]

Red's just a show-stopper! I couldn't have red hair when I was alive, you know, Japanese and all... But now it's my natural shade and I've just kind of taken to it. Not to mention the symbolism of the red-orange of the setting sun... Brilliant touch. It's me.

[But then he just. Gets a look.]

Uh... I'm... a writer. Of course I write. Constantly. Back home there wasn't as much time to just write, and I didn't always have all of the memories of my life, so it was harder, but here? All the time in the cosmos!

[He's just also a self-indulgent perfectionist with a huge ego, so. You know.]

There's the similarity between this Dazai and the one Kunikida knows. They're both attention seekers in the most annoying way possible.

He groans softly before regaining his composure. ]

I'm really not following. How is red your natural hair color? [ More importantly, why does it matter? Why does Kunikida care? Even he doesn't know. Perhaps he really is letting idle moments get to him a bit too strongly. He'll just move the conversation along when Dazai does. ]

What sort of things do you write? Novels, poetry, anything you desire?
