[ The video starts with a blank screen and a muffled sound. The one operating it has yet to get used to such technology. After a little blackness, the screen focuses on the Firbolg. His skin is a sickly grey fuzz, drawn in around the cheeks, a little unhealthily thin but not gaunt. He smiles, both his eyes and the shock of mohawk hair are a very natural-looking pink. When he finally speaks, his voice is has a very low, relaxing timbre to it. ]

Oh, hey there. Is this on? Am I sending or however this works?

[ Turning his comm around a few times until he was back in the frame. ]

I eh, let's start again, shall we? My Name is Mister Clay, Caduceus Clay and I just wanted to offer my services to anyone in need really.

[ Oh God, he's not used to public speaking. This is kind of terrifying. ]

Well, healing magic is my forte, among other things. So, like, yea. If anyone needs any healing or their mind calmed, oh, I can also do that too, calm you. I'll uh, I'll be around and willing to help out. I've heard these moons do strange things to folk, wouldn't want anyone hurting when they don't need to.

[ He pauses for a long moment. Contemplating ending it there before finally adding. ]

Oh, um and, one more thing... If you've seen anything, anyone dying or dead around the place... Give me a shout? I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

[ I just wanted to offer my services — is when Fjord almost chokes on the beef jerky he's chewing. He listens to the rest of the broadcast in trepidation and shakes his head in a hand, resolving to keep an eye on anyone who responds to Caduceus with ... less than good intentions. The bit about corralling the dead for the firbolg is a great deterrent, so that gets top marks.

He responds from the living room, a terrible angle from where he props his comm on his chest and continues eating, giving a thumbs-up. ]

Sounding good! Are you okay?

[ Honestly, it hadn't even crossed his mind how it might have sounded. Though from experience, not a lot of folk were into his particular brand and flavour. But he'd be thankful to Fjord for looking out for him.

When he sees the half-orc on the comm, he smiles that long, slow, derpy smile of his. ]

Oh, hey Fjord. Did I do that right? I feel like that could have gone better.

[ Rubbing the back of his neck, a little unsure. ]

Yea, I'm pretty good actually, you?

[ ~~insight check, 16??~~ The nerves showed a little as Caduceus was speaking on the recording, Fjord has to wonder if he's feeling any better recently or just putting on a brave face. ]

I'm tip-top, thanks. You did just fine, that was a really nice, positive broadcast.

[ ~~he's not 100% himself but he slept well, is as much as you can tell.~~ ]

It was? Aw, that's good to know. I was unsure how I'd come across.

[ Honestly, distracting himself by comforting or healing others feels like a really good idea. He could do with a distraction, something to make him feel useful again. ]

Are you upside down? Your face looks way bigger than normal.

I'm on the couch downstairs. [ He sits up and holds the recording at a better angle. ] What, uh. What do you want those dead bodies for, by the way? If you don't mind my asking.

[ Corpses in the house sounds. Well. The way it sounds. ]

[ Caduceus waves, amusement in his expression. ] [ He laughs a little nervously. ]

Well, I was gonna maybe talk to them? Take a few keepsakes to ferment, feed to the garden, we're seriously lacking shrooms and fungus up there. Uh, bury them? See what happens with the crystals, Y'know, that kinda thing. Why?

Mmm, yes. That all sounds ... great. Definitely keeping that stuff to the roof, aren't we?

[ The most casual of questions. ]

Oh, well, yea, yea we sure can. I was maybe going to keep something in that cooling chest in the kitchen.

[ But the look on Fjord's face is telling him it might not be a good idea? ]

But that's just an idea, the roof will be cool enough.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the roof is probably colder, lots of fresh air circulating up there!

[ If he opens the fridge to find a fucking head he's gonna lose his shit. ]

That's really thoughtful of you too, considering how little space we have left in the cooling chest. Most definitely use the roof. Roof all the way.

[ He can easily pick up on Fjord's desperation and anxiety from his tone. Considering the half-orcs charisma and their friendship though, Caduceus is going to let himself be persuaded by him. ]

I eh, I mean I was just gonna keep some in my room but its already cramped in there enough as is.

[ Trying not to smirk, amused by his friends reaction. ]

How neat is this though? I'm in my room, you're downstairs. It's like sending and scrying both at the same time.

[ Phewww. ]

It is pretty neat. Less invasive than Sending by far, that spell is creepy as hell when you're the one receiving it out of nowhere.

[ She doesn't use the video options much but she feels like Caduceus might be more at ease if he can see her while speaking to her. ]

Don't forget to look after yourself as well.

[ He laughs. ]

You're lucky I can only scry on you then.

[ Though that alone can be a very unsettling thing to hear. ]

But yea, I'm trying to busy myself with being helpful. I eh, I don't expect anyone to actually take me up on my offer, still.

[ He shrugs. It was the least he could do really. ]

[ He's thankful for her thoughtfulness. The video is much easier to communicate for him. ]

Oh, hey, Persephone! I plan on it. Though, I thought others might be more in need than I currently.

[ Caduceus laughs a little. ]

I mean, what's a Cleric to do if he can't heal others?

Still. It can be hard sometimes so don't forget about yourself.

[ She smiles and nods. She understands completely. She struggled with something similar question when she arrived, what's a nature goddess to do in a world like this? ]

Well, I'm sure anyone that receives your help will be very thankful for it.

Though, if I may ask, why do you need dead or dying things? [ She remembers what he told her before but what does he plan to do with such things? ]

[ Now this was a curious fellow, wasn't it? Mina smiles, making herself comfortable on her bed to use the comm. ]

Hello, Mister Clay! I am Minarii, Mina is for short. How very nice it is to know there are more of the healing ones here. Everyone's magic here, it is very different.

[ He's adorably awkward and looks pretty tall, maybe her size if it wasn't for his weight. (She wants to feed him cookies at once.) ]

You are very kind to be offering to help people, yes? I am not sure why you are asking for the dead ones, but I think the moonblessed, they turn to crystal when passed? I am not certain about the prismals.

[ She's... very much hoping he's not going to try to raise them. She's been through an entire ~~expansion~~ war with dead people, that was enough. ]

i can do a bit but let’s just say that i always want to learn more

[ Tea, Persephone, he's talking about making tea out of them. ]

[ She's a bit of a hypocrite as she's terrible at looking after herself. ]

I'm...sorry? [ She squints at the screen. ] You supply of what exactly?

[ Likewise! Caduceus studies the comm for a long moment as Mina talks to him. He's not trying to be rude but even in his world, he's never seen anyone that looks like her before. Very familiar and yet also very not. ]

Hey there, Miss Mina, it's a pleasure to meet you. You're a Cleric too? That's really neat, I thought I might have been the only one.

[ Oh, Caduceus is so very adorably awkward, he's not used to all that many people, let alone being in a whole new world. He's been eating bits and bobs but is normally more focused on making sure everyone else has plenty of food, rather than worrying about himself. But cookies sound nice, he'd never had them before. ]

Ah well, you see, I tend to a Graveyard back in my world. This place seems to be sorely lacking one. I eh, I just though being around the dead, might y'know, make me feel more at home.

[ That and he wants to make some tea out of the things that grow from them. He's never see the dead crystalising, he'd be very interested in seeing what he could grow from them! ]

[ Okay so reading was getting easier but forgive him for not texting back, his fingers are a little big for the comm. He tends to mush most of the letters together and it's kinda hard to read! ]

Ah, well, I dunno how much of my healing magic I could teach you? I've eh, well, I've never really thought to teach anyone.

[ That's a really good point. Could he even show someone how to do his brand of magic? ]

Yea, so I've heard. It's unfortunate what the moons make us do, it really is. But eh, I can definitely help calm your mind, if you're interested? It's no bother for me, really, I'm happy to help.

[ Big derpy smile incoming. ]

Tea leaves, of course, what else would I be harvesting from them?

[ His tone is amused. He's never really been one to lie, not very good at it. ]</small. Ah, I could also use as much mulch as possible. For the shrooms.

[ She didn't know what she expected him to say but she seems relieved it wasn't something too weird. ]

I think I might be able to help you with the mulch.

Oh, no! I have one little healing spell from my people, but I am a mage. I'm simply meaning among all us moonblessed.

[ She leans to the side to pick up what looks like a cup of tea and dunks a cookie in it. When you can make pastries appear out of nowhere, you just... do. It's a wonderful trick, you don't even need an oven! ]

Oh, I am understanding what you mean. I do not think I have been seeing any graveyards, but the prismals, they might have their own way of handling their dead.

[ Mina smiles again, nodding a bit. ]

Oh no, he’s cute...

After a couple of seconds Fox switches his own feed to video, though he flicks on private at the same time. Some habits die hard.

So have a warm face of a young man with dark skin and bright green eyes, offering the camera a sheepish grin. ]

I’m a quick study. You wouldn’t even need to really teach so much as just show me the kind of things you can do. Even if I can’t do them myself, I find that I can get a lot of inspiration for my own work from watching other people.

I’d be - I’d be really, really interested, honestly. I, ah... I have a few moral convictions that are usually hard as rock that apparently I just threw right out the window when Sanguis hit. So I would really really like to avoid those happening ever again.
