Text (first part private, second public)
Private to Sakuya Izayoi:
[For a city with so much going on, Remilia still manages to find herself bored. It was not a rare situation for her. It was practically her default state at this point. What was not normal was that she was alone. Having finally managed to master the use of modern technology, she was intent on finding out why with the wonderful invention known as a text message. It was a strange sort of sorcery, but it worked.]
You have been out for some time, Sakuya. Have you hit upon misfortune?
[She insisted on typing her words out exactly how she would say them. It was a matter of pride for her.]
Public:
Satisfy my curiosity. Several months ago, I asked about inhuman people who had been brought here. Now, I would like to ask a more specific question. I am certain I am not the only one here upon which mortality has no grasp. If that description does not make it obvious, I speak of what is sometimes called the 'undead'. I find the term distasteful myself, but it is a word that is convenient to describe what I mean. I do not, of course, ask for you to divulge your secrets and weaknesses, it is mere idle curiosity.

I took a detour. I am looking at clothes. I intend to get a new outfit or two for myself.
Her texting was a little less formal than her speech though she still insisted on using proper punctuation.

I see. That is disappointing. Not your shopping, of course, but the fact that there is no trouble. I suppose I could always cause some myself.
[How little she actually means that doesn't really come across in text form, but if anyone would know how she thinks, it would be Sakuya.]
Is there a reason for your sudden interest in expanding your wardrobe?
no subject
I have little to wear outside of my uniform. And being in uniform often earns me odd looks. Especially when I am alone. So I am trying to learn what is 'modern.'
no subject
I suppose that is fine. I am surprised you are willing to wear something you did not make yourself, however. Or does that distaste only matter for my own clothing?
no subject
I am not confident I can properly replicate these styles. That is why I am looking about today. I do not intend to purchase anything yet. I will be getting help from an acquaintance in making my selection.
no subject
I assume you mean you cannot YET replicate them. Still, I suppose I see no issue with you not going out in your uniform at all times. It is not that uniform that makes you who you are, after all. But enough of clothes, what is this about an acquaintance? Has this city made you more social?

[ The second question was answered in a separate text. ]
It is the young woman we met at the maid cafe. She sent me a picture of a maid outfit that she claimed to be a kind of costume and asked my thoughts. The conversation turned to clothing.
no subject
So, that girl contacted you? I vaguely recall her. I do not recall being annoyed with her. She was no true maid, but she was not disrespectful.

[Death has some funny caveates in Tyria, but as far as she knows she and her friends are the only ones who have been capable of properly making a deal with the Judge.]
I wasn't the only one, either. My friends and I were pursuing a fallen God who was wreaking havoc through Elona and when we were finally able to corner him he managed to instead turn and kill all of us that were there at the time.
We woke up in the Domain of the Lost where most souls go to be judged before moving onto the afterlife properly. The domain was overrun by creatures that weren't supposed to be there, ones that were consuming the souls before they could move on, so we were able to strike a deal with the Judge to eradicate them in exchange for our return so we could deal with Balthazar properly.
We didn't get out unscathed, though. We all came back with horrible scars from where he had fatally injured us.

[Pride does not really come across in text form, but the choice of words at least hints at how she feels about it.]

[Being from a place where the technology could not produce anything like that, the concept was a little foreign to her.]
You are the first I have ever spoken with to claim a non-magical origin for your undeath. I had actually not believed it possible. Interesting. As you seem willing to speak, I shall ask more of you. First, I must ask, are there others like you? That used science instead of sorcery to discard mortality?
no subject
[It's fortunate, perhaps, that this is over text, because god knows how fucking smug that would be otherwise. As it stands, it's already pretty smug.]
no subject
But not succeeded, I take it. So you are a unique case. And you did this to yourself simply because you were not satisfied with your humanity?
[She is hardly judging, she has met precious few decent humans the way it is.]
