[The video opens to Fish awake, sitting up in what seems to be their bed. Their dressing gown is on, at least. It's late at night in Lunatia-- give or take about 3am. And if your volume is up high enough, you might catch the sound of... someone? being very busy the next room over. Fish looks pretty concerned.]

Ah... hello.

[This is awkward.]

It's been a while since I've used this to address the whole network but... I was wondering how people deal with... ah... cats?

[And there's the sound of a door busting open and a blur of violet getting in the way of the camera and Fish and the suggestion that the merfolk threw their hand up so as to save the communicator from getting knocked over.]

Molly what--?

Ignore me, I'm just sneaking in here.

Wait, I can't--

Yeah, it's fine, just let me crawl in here.

I'm on the communicator.

Great. I don't wanna talk I just wanna sit...

[Rustle rustle.]

Perfect.

[A pause of silence.]

Continue, I'm comfortable now.

[The communicator comes down again, a little closer to Fish's face this time, they look defeated. But there's a very content, lavender-skinned, heavily tattooed tiefling on them, their tail swishing lazily and making a mess of the video a bit.]

I guess now you all know what I need... ah... a bit of advice on. Sorry, I'll get to replying to any answers later. It isn't the easiest having a lap full of cat-like tiefling.

[They huff and grin before turning the feed off.]

Maybe. It could be an idea. He seems to be drawn to wherever is warm and cozy... but also wherever I am.

[ Fish laughs and nuzzles a little into the dark locks nestled against them. ]

Ah! Sorry. Hold on a moment—

[ And they’ll send a map and an address over the communicator. ]

Thanks. I'll be by soon.

[Camera goes everywhere, blurs and shapes and then cuts out.]

[ Well, that was a trip. Good thing Fish was pretty busy dealing with fixing the mess in the bedroom while a dancing light was out distracting Molly. They know it could be a futile exercise, putting the pillows back where they belong, but they could at least try. ]

[ So normally Jester doesn't make a habit of checking out the network, more out of a series coincidences than anything else. But the one time she does— ]

Molly? [ There's a rush of static - then a series of blurs before someone distinctly blue shows up, eyes wide. ] Molly! [ Wait, hold on, that means? ]

Wait, that means you're Fish, right??? Right????

[ Blue?? At first Fish is a bit confused. Who is this? How does she know Molly? And then there’s a lazy murmur of “Ay~” beside them and it all clicks in their head. They grin, their expression definitely confident despite being tired from... shenanigans. ]

The one and only, darling. And you must be Jester! I’ve heard about you from this one.

[ They make a gesture with their head at the half-snoozing tiefling against them ]

Mn! They can't have raw fish either cause again their tummies can't handle it! But cooked fish is fine!.... Aaand I just realized... [Fish is a merfolk.... WOW, Usagi, wow. Usagi is bright red.]

Um... I am so sorry, please forget I mentioned the... the fish thing, Fi-chan.

[ Fish throws a glance over at Molly and snerks. ]

Well, I think this cat can eat a lot of fish perfectly fine.

[Despite being a very sexually active rabbit, innuendo goes RIGHT over Usagi's head when it's anyone not Mamoru.]

You feed your cat a lot of cooked fish then? You should probably mix up their diet, Fi-chan, like chicken or beef or turkey every now and then.

The best way to deal with cats is to pet them, play with them, talk to them, take naps with them, and let them do as they please!

Um, well, you'll need a litterbox and a good cat food. A scratching post is definitely recommended if you don't want your furniture destroyed. And lots of things to stimulate them. Toys and things to explore.

Also they're perfect little murder machines so don't let them outside if you want any wildlife in the area to survive. Also because they can get badly injured by vehicles or just unpleasant people if you do.

Oh, wow, you and your companion are beautiful! Are you like this even without the moonphases? I'm curious about how people change.

Also, is the cat just a Cordis person? Because that's not a cat, exactly, that's... a person.

[ Connie smiles again, amused and happy that Fish seems so fond of Molly even when the other tiefling is being a brat. Or, you know, a cat. ]

Does he get like this every time?

To be fair, I am just dealing with a person affected by the Cordis moon, not an actual cat but...

[Fish makes the little orb of light whizz around. Molly lays back on the couch he's on and just... keeps watching. But he's fascinated, clearly.]

Oh honey, you saw who was on my lap earlier, didn't you? That's the cat I'm talking about. He isn't an actual cat.

[At that, they shake their head and laugh.]

He's just affected by the Cordis moon.

Actually, this is my first time seeing him this way. He's seen me a lot during my Iris cycle, but I've never seen him during Cordis until now. He's such a brat this way...

[Fish sighs, defeated.]

But he's also so cute. I don't know what to do with him...

I don't have the heart to, Ed.

[Fish turns the communicator's camera so it's focused on Molly lounging around now, just being lazy. Tail swishing, and all. And... idly knocking over a decorative item on their coffee table. Oops. But the camera's on Molly's resting face. He seems like the naturally jovial type.]

Look at him. He's just so adorable this way.

[Obviously, someone is too fond of their cat.]

Oh, I'm certainly doing all that and more.

[They laugh, probably has said cat snuggled up to them currently.]

What do you do though when they've made a mess of your home?

[When Fish replies, they're in the middle of allowing Molly to nap on them again, his horned head on their chest. With their free hand, they're giving him scritches behind one of them.]

You do know that by a cat, I actually mean someone affected by the Cordis moon, do you?

[Well, now he feels stupid.]

When someone says cat, I assume that they mean an actual cat and not a person who has been transformed into a cat.

And i don't know what a tiefling is either.

Just a Cordis person, really.

[Fish laughs.]

But it's my first time seeing him this way and he's... being a handful. I think my entire apartment is a disaster thanks to his restlessness. But anyway... yes, we are like this even without the moonphases. Though, he's much less of a brat, normally. I love him.

[ Wow. What a pretty... human? Nonhuman? The other one definitely wasn't a human. He doesn't like people seeing him online, but he's okay talking. The excitement and delight in his soft voice over seeing some neat-looking Moonblessed is audible! ]

I have two Cordis friends -- one's a fox, the other has cat eyes and owl feathers. It's nice to see the actual cat features making an appearance! Cordis makes them really hungry and needy for touch and food.

I thought that the video made it pretty clear.

[They quirk up one vibrant, scarlet, elegant brow.]

Anyway, a tiefling is a... shall we say... a fantastical race? Rather rare. Ah...

[They try to recall things about the tiefling race but... well, unfortunately they aren't the sharpest on that today.]

They have horns, colored skin, and can speak a language that sounds... very ominous.

Ah... I suppose that explains the rummaging for food at an ungodly hour. Or that he keeps trying to stay on me. But... mm... knocking over things and littering pillows on the floor. That, I can't still figure out.

[Fish pouts at the tiefling still on them. It's really obvious that they're doting on him. Must be quite a sight seeing a violet devil-spawn and a lighter lilac merfolk together.]

[After about thirty seconds of static, rustling, and one muffled "Piece of shit!"]

Just cut their balls off.
